Perfect hosts, they are so accommodating and kind. They made recommendations about everything I asked, made sure the stay was comfortable and even went above and beyond for me so I can better experience the area (like giving me towels even after I checked out) I highly recommend this place if you’re in Zao Onsen! Will definitely stay again when I’m back.

very friendly staff. many of them can explain in simple english. Private onsen is very fantastic. great room for family. the hotel is a bit far from bus terminal but no problem because hotel provide free shuttle van from hotel to many ropeway and also shuttle van from Yamagata st. to hotel (round trip).

This place is beautiful in every way. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. The room was spacious, clean and had the most incredible view of the surrounding snowcapped mountains. Location was great. And the private bathhouse was a plus for someone shy like me.

We had shabushabu for dinner, and it was excellent. Partner and I are both not breakfast people so we just had some coffee and pastries, but I think the breakfast buffet is also good. The location is also perfect for a weekend getaway from a busy working week. The staff were all nice and service was good.

The hotel is staying in beginning of village, opposite of bus stop. Very convenient to go to ski station by walking (from 7-10 minutes depend on which station you want to go for ski). There are restaurants just next to hotel. Public onsen is 2 minute walk but they have their own small onsen inside hotel. Host is super kind. For restaurant, recommend to book in advance. Food is delicious in this village but price is higher than all other ski resort that we had been such as Nozawa onsen. Renting equipment for ski is super easy. There are shops in all stations with different price. Cheaper to go to station 1 with big Ski center.

Probably one of the best hotel experiences I've had. All of the staff was extremely helpful and nice. There was a bit of a language barrier but they were very accommodating nonetheless. My room was a good size with a nice view, I came for fall color viewing and I had a fantastic view outside my window. The hot springs at the hotel were extremely nice. The water was just the right temperature for me and it made my skin feel fantastic afterwards. I personally prefered the sulfur bath more but both were great. I was lucky enough to go when it wasn't that busy and had the entire thing to myself. Last but not least, the best part about my stay was the food. I stayed for 2 nights and was able to indulge in some of the most delicious food. The dinner and breakfast for each day was different but equally as delicious. If you ever stay here, you must get the option with meals provided.

    The facilities are well kept. Love the old Japan hotel feeling with clean, comfortable and unpretentious decorations. A car stop at entrance plus a close by car park in addition to the bigger car park. Staff at check in is professional and at breakfast are great. At dinner, food was nicely presented and it is also a pleasant experience with some selection of sake. Sofa chair in the room we booked extra for was clean and nice! Thank you.

    Great breakfast. the sulfuric onsen in '108 steps' was excellent and does amazing things to your skin. Plenty of parking at the site. The junior suite was clean, comfortable and provide lots of space.

    Nice hotel, we were able to check-in a bit earlier than expected. The onsen baths were small (especially on women's side) but the water temperature was perfect (42°C, maybe? It was not written). We liked the shabu shabu for dinner, and the buffet breakfast was good as well. Very courteous staff. Our room probably had the worst view (parking side), but at 19 000 yen/night for 2, with a bathroom and meals, it was incredible value for money :) Also: it is only a short walk away from Zao Dai Rotenburo, don't miss it!
