The room was spacious and very comfortable and we loved the privacy of our own little cabin. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We rented a car in Belize City and drove the 90 minutes to the resort ourselves, as shuttles to the property are very expensive and once you arrive there isn’t anything within walking distance. You can take the bus into Belmopan, but the freedom of having our own car was wonderful. This is a great home base for cave tubing and other jungle adventures and for visiting Mayan ruins.

The grounds of the property are beautiful and the pool is nice. The restaurant on-site is good. Free coffee in the morning is nice. Staff are very friendly. Location is nice, close to a few things and a short drive into San Ignacio where there is more to do. Plenty of parking.

It had a beautiful view and the rooms were big with fantastic staff and an amazing pool. There were two restaurants and a coffee shop on the property. And the cost for value was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

It’s a mountainous area and remind me of my country, Haiti. We went to the downtown market, not much for tourists. Also, they don’t speak much English over there compared to other cities but it’s a cool place.

Stayed for 6 nights total: 2 in San Ignacio, 1 at Rainforest Inn on Butterfly Highway, and 3 at the beach in Hopkins. The Rainforest was awesome and we did some cave exploring on tours. My husband and I enjoyed the cave tube float and our friends loved the ATM cave. Of course there are a number of Mayan ruins to explore without having to cross into Guatemala. Belize is a small country but from the Cays to Belmopan city and beach areas the culture is varied. The Garifuna culture around Hopkins is quite interesting and different from San Ignacio, which is more Mayan.

There is something magical about the experience of this place. This is a very special place. Mike the owner says he has a special energy. For us it was a place of peace and being in tune with nature. The sunrise over the river, going for a swim in the morning mist with the sounds of the jungle - unbelievable! In the afternoon, the howler monkeys roam the treetops over the small complex. Everything is laid out very sustainably and the fabulous cook spoiled us with local food and a breakfast of our choice. We'll be back - Mike, big hug! The whole staff always have a smile on their faces.

San Ignacio has enough for one to two days of activities for a typical tourist. The Mayan Temple complexes are the main attraction (the one in San Ignacio is easy to reach but less interesting than the others a bit further away). The Iguana conservation project and chocolate making demonstration are worthwhile if you have time. The drive from the airport is not scenic, but it's simple to navigate.

The lodge is in the perfect place to do a variety of jungle adventure tours and activities, especially all the caves and sinkholes in the area, and to explore the Mayan ruins, and to get a real feel for the culture of Belize.

This is a great town in the heart of the Cayo (Belize). Touted as a "backpackers destination" I consider this a must-visit for those visiting Belize as the residents are friendly and really give a taste for what parts of Belizian culture can be like.

I specifically went to see the Thirsty Jagwar (yummy fruit wines) booth at the Day & Night Market at Mae Gordon Park in Belmopan. It was a rainy day and the grounds were a bit wet and muddy, but there was a good variety of friendly vendors, so it was fun to shop around. They also had a good DJ and live music so it was entertaining as well. There was also a good variety of food vendors to choose from. The highlight of my visit was my stay at the Kiki Witz Resort. It was only 5 minutes drive outside Belmopan. Easy to find right off the highway just past the ArtBox store, but GPS was off. I had the cutest little Glamping Cabin in the woods! I will definetly come back, stay there and do little excursions out from there.
