We had a fabulous welcome from the lovely staff. The hotel is beautiful. Parking was easy and safe in the hotels secure car park. Our room was perfect. We booked in for evening meal in the restaurant which and it was lovely to see so many people in there during february! The breakfast was the best breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. I would return in a heartbeat.

I’m normally not one to write reviews but Universal Hotel Aquamarin has proved they are well worth this five star review. Firstly, from the second you arrive in the door you are greeted with bright smiles, enthusiastic staff and a glass of champagne. They ask about any need you may require during your time there and they cater to it. It has been a while since I’ve experienced a group of staff who are so considerate and remember even the little things about every guest. For example I let them know I had fish for dinner one night and the next night I had dinner at the hotel restaurant they remembered my dinner choice from the night before. They also remembered I smoked and each time they would bring me an ashtray before I even knew I needed one. Also little details like saying and remembering your name whilst serving you. As a solo traveler it was nice to know I was seen and not overlooked by larger families and groups. The breakfast and dinner was phenomenal and I have to give a special shout out to my friend Sergio who made my stay very comfortable. There is a wide variety to choose from for breakfast also and the chef also prepares more breakfast options. They have great choices from fish, meat and vegetarian on their menu also. The most impeccable part of my stay here was the view. I felt compelled to gatekeep this location but it is too beautiful not to share with others. Tanning on the sun beds was my favourite part of the stay and you are so close to the water you can dip in and out for a swim easily. I also tried out the spa which was amazing and eased my muscle and back pain which I had been suffering with for a while. I would recommend booking in advance as they tend to be fully booked and they were fully booked during my stay here also. As you can tell by my review I really love this hotel and cannot wait to return later in the year. 10/10 spot.

A firm favorite among sun-seekers, Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest Balearic Island. Palma, the enchanting capital, has a grand cathedral overlooking the harbor, a 14th-century castle and Arab baths, to name just a few highlights. Nearby is Palma Nova, home to lots of Majorca hotels on the beach within easy reach of the fantastic nightlife in Magaluf. Further along are calmer Santa Ponsa and Port d’Andratx. In the opposite direction, S’Arenal has a fantastic, palm-lined beach and quick airport shuttle rides. On the north side of the island, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana range features amazing mountain lakes. A trip to its highest peak, Puig Major, will provide breathtaking views. Down below is Port de Soller, a lovely town with some excellent Majorca hotels for families. Other popular family resorts include Alcudia with its long sandy beach, and neighboring Port de Pollenca. Ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia are nearby. In the east, Cala Ratjada benefits from 2 beautiful coastlines, while the beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor certainly live up to their names – Good and Best. Cala d’Or (Golden Cove) is another aptly named resort: its golden, sandy beach is nestled between rocks lapped by turquoise waters.     A beautiful city, a must to visit. Wonderful architecture and interesting shops. A lovely department store. The cathedral is magnificent. We had a lovely day trip into the mountains. We also visited the Miro gallery and museum. There are frequent buses and taxis are quite cheap. Plenty of nice restaurants.

    Playa de Palma is beautiful with a beautiful beach and many places to find a drink or meal. The only major drawback is that the hotel feels more like a “mini Germany,” since it’s a very popular holiday spot for German travelers. If you’re hoping for something that feels more local, just keep that in mind.

    I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel!

    I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, varied, and beautifully presented every day. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always with a smile, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location was also perfect – close to everything, yet peaceful and quiet. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!

    Magaluf is a great destination for those who enjoy nightlife and clubbing – there are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from, offering something for everyone. You'll also find large supermarkets and a wide variety of good restaurants. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic getaway, as it's more lively and party-oriented. It’s a convenient base for exploring the southern part of Mallorca and is close to Palma. Renting a car on the island is easy and can be done at affordable prices.

    Typical Spanish tourist town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, some with live music. Would of like it to be a bit more boutique'y and a little less Spanish/British bucket and spade. So not a lot to see, unless you like these very typical Spanish beach resorts. But overall good for a short break.

    The neighborhood of the hotel is quite calm and not so loud as it resides the north part of playa de Palma. the south part is more busy with loud tourist, but at midnight all loud public music is turned off.

    It really depends what you want from your vacation.

    It really depends what you want from your vacation. I would stay again, but now I know what to expect. It doesn’t have that “local” feel, it is much more touristic. But it’s a good and affordable base to explore other areas of Mallorca. I would definitely recommend for families and also for people who enjoy night live. If you’re not too fussed by the surroundings and just want an area to sleep, but venture to other places, then this is also definitely a good area

    The Cala d’Or resort is a lovely resort….

    The Cala d’Or resort is a lovely resort…. It has lovely bars and restaurants… the marina is incredible with amazing views from the terrace of restaurants.. we had incredible meals for both lunch and dinner and really enjoyed our wine… overall a wonderful short break.

    We didn’t realise before we booked that Santa Ponsa is popular with groups of boys and girls on party holidays. It’s such a short trip to Magaluf that they seem to stay in Santa Ponsa and get a cab into Magaluf. Because of this a lot of bars are very busy and geared towards groups of young lads/girls. We didn’t find it a major issue however one to bear in mind for a family holiday.
