- From $128.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 168 reviewsLoved the setting of the Hotel, in an open forest up on a hill, with several walking trails all around. The room was comfortable, and the Hotel itself had two large terraces where you could sit and rest, or enjoy your meal. Food was exceptional, and our waiter, Petar, went out of his way to make us feel at home. Same went for the Front Desk Manager Enita, who took care of our every need. Loved it here!Guest review byCarla PiaUnited States

Grahovo is a very interesting "hidden" gem in Montenegro for those who love something off of the usual tourist itinerary. It is still within good access of the Bay of Kotor and on the main road from Risan to Niksic, but it is a different world entirely. Once quite a settlement during the time of Yugoslavia (as attested to by the ruins of a large school, department store and some other public buildings), the village seems to be experiencing some kind of "revival" as a perfect weekend getaway with numerous small farms and even luxury villas for Montenegro's upper class. Nearby are several old churches, the house of Sava Kovacevic and the impressive monument to local heroes from the Second World War. In addition to an expanse of open fields and farmland (rare for Montenegro), there is a forest, a lake and an arboretum. Also, there is the impressive new hotel and restaurant -Grahovac 1858 -- and some cafes and weekend rentals. The area offers off-road vehicle adventures as well as hiking opportunities. The unique location ensures a mild winter climate as well as cool summers as maritime air from the Bay of Kotor ascends to mix with the cooler alpine air.Guest review byDale JosephMontenegro - 8.0
Not much to see in the city itself.
Not much to see in the city itself. I enjoyed a train trip followed by a long walk to the Ostrog monastery, plus a short walk around the local monuments in Niksic. Staying here is more comfortable and cheaper than e.g. in Podgorica. If you do not have a car, then it may be more practical for you to stay in Podgorica, because most other places of interest in Montenegro (such as Budva or Kotor) are better accessible from there.Guest review byJanGermany - 6.0

It can be hard to find a lot of things to do here once you spend a day walking around the town and visit the lake for a few swimming sessions, but if you enroll in the language school then it becomes much more enjoyable. The air quality is a little bit poor, as there are a lot of smokey cars, although it's very beautiful if you take a trip out into the mountains and well located for travel to other parts of Montenegro. Public transport is inexpensive, so staying in Niksic can work well if you're on a budget and want to take day trips to see the whole of the country. Everyone was very pleasant to me here, and you can make friends - especially if you make an effort to speak the language.Guest review byAnonymous
