We had a wonderful stay in Myrkdalen Resort Hotel. Nice and big room with a view and nice staff. Great location for exploring. Would definitely stay here again if we come back.

Excellent location and view. Historic hotel. The family is still in management after 6 generations. The owner came to our table at dinner told the story of the hotel. She was very kind and nice. The food at the bar, nice cold beer, wide selection of wine. Live music at the bar.

Best service! The boss and staff are excellent! I had an eye infection and the boss (I think it was) gave me eyewash, which was very helpful, the next day I had no eye issue. On top of that, they helped with washing a lot of clothes and give me access to use the washing facilities. Moreover, access to hot water to drink and coffee was available at all times, the staff showed us around and helped us with pretty much anything. In addition, the hotel is close to the lake and has beautiful surroundings, we had many geese outside our window. Furthermore, the hotel has free parking which is fantastic. The view was spectacular even though the weather was not. The hotel is like a museum! The garden with fabulous overlook was lovely and the staff was excellent.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Old Bull Akademiet for a weekend night, and I can’t recommend it enough for budget-conscious travelers looking for great value! As the only guest during my stay, I had the entire place to myself, which felt like a rare treat. This is not a traditional hotel but a music academy offering 4-5 cozy dorm-style rooms, each with two beds and a small private bathroom. The simplicity is reflected in the incredibly affordable price, we’ve paid 4-5 times more elsewhere for only slightly better service, so this was a steal! The location is perfect: an easy 8-minute walk from the train station and just 2 minutes from the vibrant Main Street, making it super convenient to explore Voss. The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed for a short stay. If you’re looking for a no-frills, budget-friendly option with a unique vibe and great location, Old Bull Akademiet is a gem. I’d happily book again!
