Land & boat transfer was smooth, we were welcomed by Noel when we first landed and I can already feel the warmth throughout our journey to the island. Room: Our sunset villa was really nice. The room was nicely designed and we had surprise swan & crab deco in our room from time to time throughout our stay. The only thing that I can say which will else make our stay perfect is if in any of our 4 nights there, we were able to watch sunset from our room. But I know this is at no point was the resort's fault, as we were quite unlucky to check in just when typhoon passed so the weather was not really on our side. Meals: For resort level especially their location in secluded island, their meals were surprisingly affordable compared to other resorts. Meals were fulfilling but I really love their Ovaltine drink and couldn't get enough of it. Activities: We booked our Coron tour through resort, and I will say that this is the best tour that I've ever been to! For the price paid, we got boat and land transfer, in addition to private tour with a really helpful and knowledgeable guide. We also got freshly cooked lunch, and our guide even helped took pictures for us throughout the tour. 5 stars for the service! Other than that, the resort also offer free guided snorkerling around the island and we got to see 2 turtles during our morning snorkel. They also provide free kayak that you can use around the island. Service: I would like to express our gratitude towards everything that the resort staff did to ensure we had a really memorable stay. The kitchen team paid attention to our dietary restrictions and even prepared a separate meals so we can enjoy our dinner. When you put in the key card it takes a minute for the AC to come on but be patient. Large walk-in shower in the bathroom. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was served in the restaurant buffet style or you could sit outside and although it was not vast, it was well furnished and tasty. Staff was friendly and conscientious. The family-price Easter dinner for 5 was delicious; 4 generous (chicken, ham and seafood) main dishes, ice tea and fresh fruit platter came to a total of 29€ TOTAL not per person! Other times eaten there- food reasonably priced and quite good. The pool is very large with an attached shallow area and another circular pool area with a seating shelf. Although many people comment on the lack of adequate sun loungers, during the day there were not many people at the pool anyway. There was a chair and side table on the terrace in front of my room in the shade. Outside bar serves drinks and food. The resort is quiet and just on the upper limits of town but only a 20-minute walk to downtown proper. Better option was a 30 peso per person tuktuk (48 centimes) for the 6-min ride which Reception can call for you. Mini-mart (cash only) 12 minute walk just past the McDonalds with ATM just across the street. Great restaurant options in town: Gavin's and Santino's were FABULOUS ! Had my laundry done before heading home so that I arrived with all clean clothes ..pick up and delivery..impeccable and about 6-7€. Arrange with reception. Easy RDV location for marvelous island hopping day tours. The calamian group of islands of which Coron is part of, is beautiful. And I hope all the measures to keep it pristine and unlittered will be successful always. There are many breathtaking sights. You would need a sizable budget though to be able to enjoy the boat tours which are wonderful. If you have the time, visit Culion. It is historical (a UNESCO site), and while the places to see could do a little tidying up, nevertheless, the history of that place invites reflection and inspires--many heroic people lived on that island. The place is nice but quite far from the mainland (30-40mins boat ride). It is good for people who like privacy but not for those who would want to explore and try out different food and places in Coron town. The rooms are nice and most of the staff are pleasant. Food is just ok. The biggest drawback is the value for money. I think you can find more of the same island life ambiance elsewhere without breaking the bank. I regret not choosing Sunlight resorts or heading to Lio in El Nido instead. Take note when booking they charge for extra adult in excess of 2 people for most of the rooms even though they are still considered children (10 years old and older will be charged more or less100 USD). Rooms are spacious, big selection if breakfast, friendly hotel staff. Infinity pool is okay, could have a bit deeper though. The other pool is undergoing refurbishment. Island hoping are a must to do. We ate in the town where they served fresh sea food.I think its called Island boy Grill. Day trips to beautiful beaches and islands is what Coron is about. The town is dirty and chaotic. And hotels are overpriced for what you get. 3 or 4 days is enough to enjoy the diving and snorkelling options which are wonderful. Lots of rubbish floating around in the ocean and on the beaches which seems to be a south east Asia problem.
