ENVIRONMENTAL concerns: the world needs an urgent and combined action and this Island it’s not an exception. 200 Thb are paid to enter the island claiming it’s a “reserve” but instead of money being used to keep the island clean we can see PLASTIC being massively used, the Thai villagers itself don’t look focused on the environment ideology, and a massive temple it’s being build…questionable routing of the money I guess…but I don’t have all the facts to judge this…but another paradise it’s severely compromised if the Thai government and island management don’t improve this ASAP! Near by the Ao Chao, if we pass the next hotel on the right side, local people live there and we can see plastic all around the houses, directly on the floor…a good image on the hotels and a very bad one on the “hidden” side…not good at all and a sign that EDUCATION needs to be improved for the sake of our PLANET!Guest review bynpfcruzUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Beautiful island, frequented by weekend holiday makers from Bangkok. Beautiful beaches. Food and drinks there are slightly pricey. Thai people are generally nice and have super big smile and warmth. Unfortunately for me, in Ko Samed... some how I felt that the big smile and warmth from the locals here is a notch lower compared to other places in Thailand. Possibly due to over population of tourist on the island disrupting their beautiful lives here.Guest review byEdSingapore
