My husband is an architect and was very impressed with how the hotel modified the cave rooms for guests. Our suite was enormous, and had a perfect view overlooking Cappadocia. The hotel was very accommodating and affordable, however please note that we visited during the winter off-season. Parking is limited in front of the hotel, but you can always park down in the center of town if needed. The general attitude on parking seems pretty laid back. The staff were very helpful and made sure to check in with us daily to see if there was anything they could do to make our experience even more pleasant. The hotel does sell tours and balloon rides for very decent prices. If you are someone who is afraid of balloon rides, you can easily enjoy the balloon experience from your room. There is a swimming pool available just past the main dining area/breakfast room. It seems like it would be very refreshing in the summer. Beautiful and quiet place. Less busy and less expensive than Georme. Locations near Uçhisar castle is very lively but rule is same. closer your stay to main hub costly and busier it gets. It is a lovely small town next to Goreme (famous for the hot air balloon rides and pointed rock structures) so its a short ride away with none of the hustle and bustle of a touristy town. It has many local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, to eat at without breaking the bank. There is a promenade with on the river with jungle gyms and play areas for little kids. Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday.
