Breakfast is a really nice buffet! Bed was comfortable and location really great. Fellow guests were families, students and mainly other Europeans. We liked that it wasn’t trying to to be an American hotel.

Iceland seemed overrun by visitors, especially as cruise ships were in port. Tourism is now the main source of income.
Local businesses were taking full advantage. Prices are expensive and attitudes more serious than friendly we found.
But it is a unique place, geothermally heated and continuously earthquake active.
Reykjavík is a medium sized city, well spread out, and not flat.
It is the only settlement of any size.
We did not eat out. Others told us that visitors pay double the price of locals in restaurants .

We spent 3 1/2 days in Reykjavik.
We spent 3 1/2 days in Reykjavik. Went to Blue Lagoon on the day we arrived. Spent two days on full day tours (Golden Circle & South Coast). We used the other day to walk all of downtown. We were able to cover pretty much all of downtown in a day.

The weather prevented us from exploring the Old Harbour, which is a favourite tourist spot. However we were content just walking the neighbourhood from Center Hotels Klopp. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner of arctic char and pizza at Dass Reykjavik. Food was beautifully prepared and the music was great to dine and relax to. Another wonderful place for dinner was Krua Thai - authentic Thai dishes! It was so good we went there for a second time for our last dinner before leaving. Every dish was delicious - Tom Yum, Pad Thai, fried (popcorn) shrimp, and Red curry and dumplings. We only allotted one full day in Reykjavik but the cold weather curtailed our exploring the city as much as we planned. Our next two days were filled with 10 or 11 hour tours from Reykjavik to the Golden Circle and then the South Coast - I couldn't have planned our time any better!!

You really need a 5 - 7 days to see Iceland. Outdoor sites are too far apart. Best to just do a Rental Car and circle the Island. Rejakavik nice city but way over priced. Just like Coipenhagen, Stockholm in terms of pricing.

If you like fish, and especially char, this is the place to be. The restaurants are superb, and the museums thoughtfully laid out. The Museum of Art, the Settlement, The National Museum were so proud and beautifully done. Colorful houses, well-tended gardens, friendly people, clean air. What a beautiful place to live.

Reykjavík is a lovely destination to explore: be sure to monitor the weather since it can shift rapidly.
Dont forget to bring a raincoat, a puffer jacket with a hood, or cotton earplugs in the car for everyone.

Great place to stay in the heart of Reykjavik city centre. The apartment was spacious, very clean and comfortable. It is located on paid parking zone, but there were plenty of space to park your car, even in the high tourist season. A little tip for parking - park in zone P3 it is on 70-100m from the apartment, it is a way cheaper than P1.
In the apartment there is everything you need for you stay. Even in the city centre it was quiet and you can rest after long day of exploring and hiking in Icelandic nature.
It is perfect if you're looking just for a place to stay for the night to begin or to finish you journey in Iceland. I stayed both in the beginning and the end of my trip and both time were perfect. It serves its purpose of resting. If you don't have a rental car, I do not recommend you stay in this hotel because it is a bit far from Reykjavik center. Also if you are using Reykjavik as a starting point for your tours and plan on staying there, I also do not recommend for the same reason.
The accommodation looks like a dormitory turned into a hostel. The rooms are simple but clean, each room has a sink which is nice. Although we requested one large bed, it never worked in Iceland so even here we got two single beds on the opposite sides of the room to sleep on. The experience was okay. The city center is a little walk away and the airport shuttle bus station is just down the road so for an entry or exit point from Reykjavik it is an ideal place to stay.
The location is the best part. It's a very no-frills place but it's right smack dab in downtown so you can walk outside and immediately be downtown. Also very cheap for the location.
