We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk. My stay at this hotel was absolutely delightful! A very cozy place in a quiet little village. No urban noise or hustle and bustle. I would happily live in such a place myself. Wonderful courtyard and garden, perfect for working on a laptop or documents. Incredibly friendly and caring hotel owner! And the amazing breakfasts and dinners she prepared! You definitely won't need a restaurant instead! The room was absolutely clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the nature. Overall, it was a memorable visit, and I will definitely come back here again. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a splendid place to relax in peace and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

Spacious communal areas. Large bedroom with modern and well functioning en-suite. Very comfortable bed with quality bed linen. Free access to tea and coffee. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and obliging. They made us feel very welcomed.
