Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. When I arrived there and I saw the view from the little garden, the table ready for my lunch, Pilar smiling and everything was so warm that I immediately decided to stay two days more. It’s the right place to rest for a while. Food is super good, here an italian is speaking so trust me, the family is so nice and full of kindness. The room is claen with private bathroom and i had no problems with water supply. What else? Just come they took a pice of my heart.

With pool views, Uros Lodge Lover Titiqaqa is located in Puno and has a restaurant, free shuttle service, bar and garden. The property has river and garden views, and is 4.6 km from Estadio Enrique Torres Belon. The homestay features family rooms. The property was fantastic, a floating island in such a beautiful location! It was amazing to see how the family made such lovely little cabanas out of the materials around the island. Our hosts were so attentive, offering an informative short boat tour of the local area. Food was lovely, and there was even a little shop to buy souvenirs (most of which were handmade by the family!).

Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. I was warmly greeted on arrival by the kind lady at reception and shown to my room. The room was much larger than expected, very clean and really good value for money. I had an early boat trip booked for the next morning and they offered to prepare breakfast earlier for me. It’s the little things like this that really go along way when you are travelling. The property is a short walk away from the lake and the main square so perfect location to see/do everything you need to while in Puno.
