Greenhead is a charming village located near Hadrian's Wall on the Cumbria/Northumberland border, making it an ideal destination for history enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike. Hadrian's Wall is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that once marked the northern frontier of the Roman Empire. Today visitors can explore the well-preserved remains of the wall, forts, and museums and tread in the footsteps of a bygone era. The village is surrounded by breathtaking countryside, offering opportunities for hiking, cycling, and nature walks. The nearby Northumberland National Park provides a stunning backdrop for outdoor activities, with scenic trails and panoramic views. Historic Carlisle is a half hour drive with shops, bars and restaurants. Lake Ullswater, the Scottish Borders, Solway Coast and the wider Northumberland region, with attractions such as the historic market town of Hexham and the majestic Kielder Water and Forest Park are all easily accessible, as is Newcastle for shopping centres and a night at the theatre making Greenhead an ideal base from which to enjoy a holiday with a variety of attractions all on the doorstep. Long Byre is a stone built cottage with a contemporary open plan living area providing a luxurious home from home feel. After a day exploring the local countryside return to the cottage where you can relax in the secluded garden with a hot tub. Withing a mile there is a pub and tea room for days you prefer not to cook at home. The cottage is located next door to Hadrians Wall Cottage sleeping 8 and parking is in the shared courtyard. Rent both cottages to sleep up to 12 people.
