It is convenient It seems "tired" I know that they are having a refurbishment but it needs to go deeper to justify a 4* rating

The staff were excellent. They were polite, efficient, helpful and professional without being artificially formal.

Friendly staff Rennovation work was giving the hotel a terrible outlook. Carpets were being changed. I was disturbed till 12-00 midnight the two nights. Late night disco also was very disturbing. Traffic on the road was equally heavy till late. I stayed at wynnstay so that I can get some sleep but that was very much disturbed. Food was expensive as well..

Very good hotel. Staff friendly, rooms well appointed. I would recommend this hotel. I felt the choice of food on the bar menu was limited, but in the interest of fairness, I never tried the formal restaurant. Both seemed pricey.

Very good breakfast. Make up your mind how much it is for breakfast. I paid £8.50. Your documentation said Eu 8.50, which is 20% less The disco went on till 1.15am. Make up your mind whether you are a dance hall or hotel. You cannot sucessfully be both. The morning call I booked didn't happen. I occupied room 301. A double bed is squeezed into what is barely room for a single bed. The sloping board one side (probably over a staircase) is a safety hazard and there is only about a foot between bed and wall the other side.

The outside of the building is very attractive, as is the downstairs dining room. The bedroom was pleasant in appearance. Room service (sandwiches and wine) and breakfast were both excellent. It is, unfortunately, a very long walk indeed from the car park to the hotel Reception, and I was not prepared for this. The bedroom looked attractive, but the electricity sockets were not conveniently placed - there needs to be one beside the bed. The bed was ROCK HARD - I know that there are people who like this, but something a little less extreme would have been a good idea. I'm afraid that did very substantially detract from the pleasure of my stay. The shower was extremely primitive, with a fixed head, wildly varying pressure and temperature, and no instructions!

Nice traditional feel to the hotel. Definately not an anonymous chain type of hotel. Our room was large and comfy, with a large, well appointed shower/bathroom. Nicely decorated throughout. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Full breakfast is well worth the £8.50 charge, and the evening meal was good value too. Service at both meals was first class. When booking check how many stairs to your room if you have any mobility issues, it is an old building and the layout of the rooms make fitting a lift impractical, even if they could get permission to "vandalise"what is probably a listed building. Rooms at the front of the hotel (like ours) are affected by idiots in the street outside shouting late at night, note I appreciate this is not the hotels' fault. Finally when we stayed there the front main entrance door could be heard banging every time someone came and went, but this stopped after about 11.30 pm. I did metion the need for this door to be adjusted when we checked out.

We had a lovely family get together . Staff were very good and attentive at dinner and breakfast . Sadly our rooms were all overly hot and we all expressed our concern over the hotels heating bill as we all slept with our windows open . Also those of us having steak at dinner found them extremely tough , even when equipped with steak knives . Showers heat was not controllable , either too hot or freezing cold

Good staff, nice breakfast Cold oddly furnished room with very poor sound insulation. Dinner was pretentious but basically freezer to microwave. Tasteless except for over salted pour over sauce. Substandard

It was a nice breakfast A four star hotel with no lift? Really steep stair to the second floor. Poo stained towel in our room no heating from radiators....electric heater supplied no restaurant due to new years day but equally no room servicewe were not informed that the money we had paid in advance entitled us to three courses and only had one... No leisure facilties on day if arrival, which was one of the main reasons for booking.
