The room was spacious, the heating worked (that later turned out to be quite a problem in some other hotels)
Far from the center of the city, some weird procedure of checking in when it's late (you have to go to the other hotel downstairs to get the key and it's not that easy, considering their antique and incredibly inconvenient elevator).
The room was big. Wifi in the room. Clean. Close to the Accademia 700mts Good location in the city centre Value for money
Breakfast is small.
The staff, which is composed by one guy is really nice. The emplacement is not so bad. Not in the center. But we need only 10 minutes by walk to go there. It's clean.
Th room was not the same in the pictures. A bit dark. The bathroom is not realy safe with an electric cable in the shower. Our room couldn't be locked. We didn't have any problem but we were a little bit worry. The room was very noisy. We can hear every person who comes back in the hotel.
The room was quite clean, and it is in walking distance from the center.
The room was a little shabby and noisy.
Old windows and noise from the street.
Breakfast was included, the bathroom was large, everything was clean, and the WiFi was great! The manager was very helpful and friendly. He gave us great information and called Taxi's upon request.
The location is a about 15-20 minute walk from the city center. However, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel.
Polite staff Air conditioning Close to city center Jazz music from the stereo at breakfast
Elevator is tiny and hot, looking dangerous. The third floor is exhausting on stairs. The wall painting is old, looked much better on the pics. Lots of cheap Marilyn Monroe pictures in the room. The breakfast is monotonous (the food)
Owner was very friendly and kind.
Our room was on 3rd floor and elevator was terrible, it was impossible to fit bags in it. Breakfast was awful, really terrible, I can tell that there was nothing, only coffee. There was written that hotel should be in center, but Florence is quite small itself, so the location is not very good.
Location is within walking-distance from the centre, given you don't have to carry a lot of stuff with you. The staff is very nice and helpful. Price is fair for what you get, the room includes basic facilities.
The bed lamps are fluorescent lights which give a cold atmosphere, didn't bother us though. The room was oddly furnished. Wi-fi is located at the front of the corridor and doesn't reach the rooms further down it.
The man is very friendly.
Maybe I was not lucky with my room with green blanket - IT HAS FLEAS ... almost ruined my vacation! Breakfast I had only for the second day when I made sure it was really mean served, then I decided to pay for my breakfast outside. I think the problem is a bad partnership with the hotel downstairs where the breakfast is served. I had to throw my towels on the floor wet so that it could be changed, well, wifi - a joke! by the way it's not a god location.
Good location, walking distance to the cathedral. Clean, but a bit old. Quiet room, good WiFi. Good price tag for Florence.
It is relatively inexpensive, but prices in Florence always vary. The hotel manager did improve the terrible mattresses by adding a layer of cloth on top. The air conditioning was helpful, Italy can be depressingly hot in summer. The piazza Della liberta is a good location and on a convenient bus route.
The shower is terrible, one can barely fit inside. Towels are only replaced upon request. The breakfast (served at another hotel downstairs) was an absolute joke. The WiFi is very bad. Mattresses were very uncomfortable. The overall atmosphere is sombre and the hotel feels dark and stuffy.
Only the location.
Everything. The room was dirty, the staff was laisy. We found a lot of ticks on the bed. It seemed that the room was not cleaned for months. Beside, the smell was horrible. I will never go back again!!!
Small refrigerator in the room. Fun elevator.
Breakfast wasn't enough.
Nice and helpful personnel, willing to help and provide information.
The state of the room in which we stayed was not even close to one on the photos in the offer. The worst thing was fungus on the ceiling in the bathroom.
Clean enough, but worn.
Room was not well maintained. Staff did their job, but was lacking any personality or oomph. Mosquitos in the room. My companion said he got bitten in the night, I didn't have an issue with that. Not a convenient location. In essence, it was a hostel with a private room and toilet.
The staffs were great!!!!!!!
The location and the colour of the room...it was too dark...
I liked the facilities of the room and the location of the hotel
Good sized room and free wifi. Good value for money.
First night when we arrived the stuff was very bad . I wait stuff 10-15 minutes and looking how he moving paper and reading something. He was very slowly. He speak very slowly and telling same thing 10 times. Actually i was a little bit disappointed with room condition. Our room was very big but very old . Also its smell not good. Next day staff was excellent and helpful. We pay a little and get very nice room .
Friendly service, big room, clean shared bath
Wi fi did not work, beds are rather short, smell in the corridor
The facilities were nice enough for what you you pay....
Road works out the front were a hassle, we also were not made aware of the road restrictions ever... The room was satisfactory but rather small.
We only stayed for one night, so I can't really offer a great review...but our room was clean, large and comfortable, the man at reception was very friendly and helpful, WiFi was free and worked okay, and the location is great. Although we didn't use them, the common room and dining area looked nice too!
Finding somewhere we could legally park was a little difficult, but this isn't really a negative thing about the hotel itself!
It was a great stay in Hotel Genzianella. The staff is really polite and all of them speak english. We checked in on friday 8th november. They gave us a city map, explain how to find all the sights, where to eat local tasty food, but not in the tourist area. Also the hotel is 24/7. It is 20 minutes far away from the station and 10 minutes from Duomo. Location is great. The hotel is located on the 3rd and 4th flor but there is elevator. I totally recommend this hotel.
Cheap but poor breakfast
I was very impressed with the staff. They all speak English and they are so helpful with everyone from the very beginning.
Well, the cleaning woman never appeared to my room. My room was clean anyway but why not change the sheets..
