How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hot tub could have been hotter. Railing to get in was loose. Pool too cool for me, but hubby liked it.

Loved the ease of getting there and the staff member who checked us in could not have been nicer or more helpful. There was a snafu with the original booking as I had requested a handicap room and did not receive one.

Shower curtain was a little short, hard to close to wall, to keep water escaping. Can't think of much else. Was very satisfied.
Travelling from Toronto to Saint John NB. Perfect place to stop for overnight stay. Location just off highway, staff were great, very clean, breakfast was hot & cold, everything you need. Will stop again.

The bathroom smelled a bit weird, could have been more clean and they can put some room freshener. The water clogged while we used the basin and the bath tub during shower. The pillow covers didn’t seem pretty clean and had stains.
The property was very nice for the price we paid. We had decent sauna/gym facilities and pretty decent breakfast.

The motel is advertised as pet-friendly. AT NO POINT when booking, checking in OR CHECKING OUT, was there any indication of an extra cost for a pet. However, after leaving the motel, we noticed a separate, extra credit card charge of $50 (WHICH WE HAD NOT AUTHORIZED) for our little dog. It seems 'sneaky'/ underhanded, as well as excessive ... almost a 55% charge over the original cost for a room for 3 humans! Had we known, we might have changed plans or looked for a different motel. We were going to use this motel in about a week on the return journey, but will now look for a different motel. We have often stayed at this motel over the years & been very happy with it up till now.

Our toilet handle kept breaking, room had a very off smell. We kept spraying cologne to cover it. Beds were hard as a rock. On our final morning we had a puddle by the heater in the room. Staff was wonderful however.

I did feel like the pools could do with a bit of a clean.
We really enjoyed our stay here (family with 2 young children). The location was great (we had our own vehicle) and all the attractions we wanted to go to were within a 30 minute drive. Right by the hotel was a grocery store, pharmacy, Dollorama and multiple fast food restaurants which was really helpful. The hotel breakfast was great, it had everything we needed and it started early which was good for us as our children are early risers. The room was spacious and comfortable. Our kids absolutely loved the pool area. We felt we got great value for money.

Room was clearly smoked in previously...was unbearably smokey and smelly. Room 411. Yes I alerted the front desk, she tried to help as best she could but no other room was available. We slept with the window cracked open to help air flow. Our room was facing back parking, so not noisy. Room was not well cleaned! Boot print on toilet seat cover. Crumbs in corners, baseboards not wiped...old candy under desk....etc Overall cleaning staff could deffinetly do better!
Staff was friendly. Front desk staff and breakfast staff helpful and smiley. I liked being on the 4th floor. Breakfast was good. Nice hot options. Waffles were good! Bed was very firm, as I like. The hot tub was popular and hot! Perfect. Good size room. Tv worked well and on wall swivel.
