Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I had asked for a special request for a surprise I wanted to do for my boyfriend. Your front desk staff members by the name of Rahaman was soooooo helpful and did the perfect surprise for me. I had asked for a bottle of champagne with champagne glasses and ice to be waiting for us when we checked it. He did that AND added a couple extras. A small plant of roses, chocolate and a little note for my boyfriend. It was so sweet and special. We were very appreciative of his efforts to make it a perfect stay! Rahaman went above and beyond for us and his customer service with his friendly smile, made our stay there even more memorable! Thank you Rahaman! It was a pleasure to meet you. Keep up the great work!

United StatesParking was questionable. I asked before arriving and was told they had available parking for $15. When we got there we realized it was only three spaces and all were taken. Street parking is only an hour M-F and can’t park overnight. The front staff couldn’t confirm what time you could park until over the weekend on the street and said we could park in the one spot when the other car there moved. It was more stressful than I wanted it to be with a short time from our arrival to our scheduled event. They did give us the parking for free but we had to rush back to move the car off the street before midnight because they weren’t sure exactly when the spot would free up by the hotel and we didn’t want a ticket. This was frustrating because I had specifically asked about this prior to our arrival.
The location was nice. Quick walk to neighborhood spots. Trolley right out front. We booked a room with two twin beds on here but their system only put 2 travelers down for one twin bed. The front staff moved us to two separate rooms with full beds for the same price. The rooms were quite loud and lots of noise coming from outside and in the common area. Comfortable for the price and one night but not for light sleepers!

Canadait was in a terrible neighbourhood. 2-3 times I didn't feel super safe walking with my partner - It only last 5 mins around the area - it's unfortunate that it is right next to a shelter that has a lot of zombies walking around and not the so harmless feeling ones. One guy asked us for the time and you could almost tell he wanted more. We walked faster said no and kept it moving. Moring and later at night was worse ovbioulsy.
The front desk guy Rahamen was really awesome

United KingdomThe bathroom in the room has a strange smell. I was on the first floor and could hear streetcars and emergency service vehicles passing by all the time throughout the night, also could hear a recurring beeping coming from the reception area.
Location was really good, directly off of a streetcar stop which was very easily accessible

CanadaThe area where my room was all I heard for two nights was sirens and yelling. On the first night someone’s car alarm was going off for 45 minutes right outside my window, ( I was on the first floor mind you and the hotel is right DT SO I get it kinda) This was day before I was having a serious medical procedure.. then lots of banging, drills and construction happening all day after my procedure when trying to relax in bed. Don’t come here right now if you need relaxation and peace. Also no fridge, microwave, phone or coffee maker in room. Bed, tv, small side table and bed and bathroom. I paid $208 for two nights which I thought was a deal but after everything it should’ve been $150 for two nights.
The bed and the tv that had access to Netflix

GermanyThe cab driver had never taken anyone to the hotel and warned me of the neighbourhood. In the end it was safe, but not so amusing because full of homeless people. The hotel and the rooms are basic but clean and functional, and I guess for the price I could not expect more. I had to ask for a hair dryer and the one I got did not work properly: better to bring your own. The front staff was very nice and helpful. There is no breakfast but sometimes fresh coffee. If on a budget, this is a doable choice.

CanadaI was a bit nervous regarding the location, we didn’t feel entirely safe until we got inside the building, having been around a lot of individuals who seemed to be high. As said before, the only real issue was the fact that there was a mix-up with our booking, but the on-desk manager sorted us out to a satisfactory degree. Not to nitpick however, our room wasn’t exactly tall-person friendly, with the slanted roof causing me a headache; but that’s nothing too serious. It was a great stay.
I thought the rooms were brilliant, extremely comfortable. The staff were exceptional and, even though there was a booking issue, they sorted us out very well; made sure that we had a room at another hotel and allowed us to check-in early the next to as compensation. The location is decently close to the city centre, and so walking there and back was never really an issue.
