How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location right in the middle of the city and close to the old town that has plenty of food options. We caught the bus from HK airport that drops you at a different hotel, but it is only a short walk to this hotel.

I could literally feel every movement of the lift which at time disturbs sleep.I dont know if its possible to soundproof noise from the lift,but otherwise 5 star treatment for a 5 star hotel!

Executive Club was closed, so they use the Swiss Cafe instead (I wish they would have explained this at check-in). No drinks were offered apart from what the buffet provided (which was not re-stocked), wine and beer was non-existent and no staff on hand to assist. However the variety of food was plentiful. Shower in the room could have been cleaner, lots of black mould. They do not enforce the non smoking policy on designated floors, had to complain twice before the duty manager actually remediated the situation. Beds are definitely on the firm side, but this is typical in most china hotels.
Check-in staff speak reasonable english. Turndown service staff member was exceptional, very helpful and went above and beyond when I had a water leak issue due to a freak storm outside.

The elevator and the lobby chairs
Rich with all kinds of all kinds of verieties. Hotel is only 10 mins on foot to the center. It is the tallest building in the whole city

The lobby seats and the change of the lift, no matter on which floor your stayroom is, you have to change the lift on the 36th floor, both up and down
The friendliness of the staff,especially Jackwan one of the receptionists. The buffet and the view.

For us the bed was a little hard - but that was a very minor comment and everyone has different preferences.
The location was so near to many things. English was not an issue - thankfully as our Chinese was pretty well non-existent. Unbelievable views and great food on 51st floor. Ended many days with a quiet drink in the bar on the 51st floor. All staff were lovely and helpful - particular thanks to Alex her served us on several nights - he makes a lovely margarita and went out of his way to please. Price was very good for the facilities and service provided.

The lifts. You don't know which one is coming. The seats in the lobby are very uncomfortable. There should be grab handles in the bathroom.

You have to catch two separate lifts to get to your rooms.

A very beautiful and comfortable hotel with a good location, good environment and convenient transportation. Near Zumiao subway Station. Fred was very comfortable to talk to and had a great attitude. He was very helpful.

Television channels. Not designed for international visitors but local. Only about 3 or 4 out of 51 may appeal to the foreign guests. I guess there is not much they can do about this.
Loved both the buffet breakfast and dinner. You have to give it to William and his team - they want you to have a taste of every good food available (if possible). The front desk and concierge were very helpful in solving issues I needed to deal with such as transport, location of buildings where I needed to do one thing or another. Wifi was superb
