Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room thermostat was set at a fixed temperature which was too cold. The duvets were very thin for early March and as a result we were very cold. There were no extra blankets or duvets in the room.
Excellent location close to central square, museums, the river and all tourist attractions. Breakfast was varied with many options. Check in quick and efficient.

Austria- The water in the shower was changing temperature on its own continuously and it was leaking on the floor so that at the end of the shower there was a „lake“ in the bathroom. - very slow check-in and check-out due to very few people (and not all experienced) at the reception - Make sure to put the „do not disturb“ sign on your door because the cleaners will wake you up at 7:50 or 8:30!

GermanyThe building is a little older which shows in the windows (you can't completely open them and as such the air in the room feels rather stuffy) and the bath tube was leaking, making the bathroom floor a small ocean after each shower. The latter might be only my room. The bad air made for a bad night's sleep, and throat felt weird in the morning. Some other small dislikes: The hair dryer was very weak and barely dried our hair. The shampoo made my hair sticky and look oily.
The rooms are clean. The hotel facilities are great, especially the gym (which was very empty each time I was there. They even offer protein shakes there). There is a sauna, pool and very nice staff who provides for everything. The opening times are very long too. The best thing about the hotel might be the staff's smiles, even the housekeeping staff greeted me and gave me a smile - that was great. Great breakfast with a very attentive staff. Even for vegetarians and vegans, there are oats, oat/soy milk, beans, vegetables etc. The location is right in the middle of the historic center of the old city, and there are a lot of restaurant options. My mother and I went for a walk in the morning, and the old city was wonderfully empty.

GermanyThe access of lift is limited to only at one location while they have big buildings so it is pretty far to walk to and from the room every time you want to go outside. The staffs are not very attentive from the telephone when we asked for wifi password. There is a grumpy staff on the breakfast counter.
Near to the tourist attractions in the Altstadt. Variety of breakfast buffet. Room and bathroom is comfortable but it felt smaller than the size mentioned in the description. Gym and swimming pool area is nice from 3€/day.

GermanyA few things bothered me, but didn't ruin my stay. First, the hotel is surprisingly big, bigger that it seems from the outside. As such, it can host several hundreds of guests. However, it has only three main elevators. Combined with their average clientele at the time of my visit (seniors 60+), the elevators were always full with lost people going the wrong way. That made going down for breakfast or simply exciting the building an unnecessary long and at times a frustrating event. Keep in mind this would be an issue only during heavily trafficked hours and not the entire day. Second, the mini fridge unit in our room was unusually loud. It kept me awake the first night I was there. If you're a light sleeper, this might be a problem for you. While bathrooms are really nice and clean, the bath unit was strangely creaky. It lessened the feeling of a premium location. Lastly, the Wellness area is an amazing addition to the hotel, but people need to understand that it's not a kids water park. Some guests were loud, even in the clearly labeled 'quiet' areas. None of the above ruined my stay in any way. I listed these 'problems' in spite my good stay, given how premium the hotel is. Is it worth the money? Yes, especially if you value the premium location and big rooms.
Everything in the hotel is clean - the entrance area, elevators, hallways, and of course the rooms. The room we stayed in is spacious and provides enough area for a bulky baggage and still be able to walk unobstructed. Beds are big and very comfortable. Both sides of the bed have enough space for a person to stretch. The small sofa chair next to the window is surprisingly comfortable for it's squareish shape. We spent a few hours every evening reading our books on it without feeling sore. Breakfast is typical for this kind of hotels - a buffet with no exceptional and unusual offering. The staff is continuously buzzing around (even on holidays) trying to help you with everything and keep your table clean. The hotel includes several restaurants and bars. All of them offer room charges, so you don't need to fumble with the payment. It goes without saying - the location is amazing. Other hotels nearby also have a good location, but this Hilton hotel is basically a centerpiece of the city. All buildings surrounding the hotel are of historical significance. There are two gates through the historical walls, and both gates lead to the hotel.
