Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe exterior of the building was a little off putting - needs a coat of paint. But in general I would recommend a stay here. It was very comfortable.
Situation was great. Easy walk to restaurants and sites of interest. Paid parking autobus station closed by. Interior of the building tastefully decorated and well maintained and clean. Lady who admitted us was very welcoming and kind.

Wonderful location and a great atmosphere. Friendly staff. The place has so much history and is so far removed from often bland and modern hotel rooms. And it has a quirky old pub downstairs !! A real gem in an amazing city

GermanyCosy stay in one of the oldest Hostals in Spain dating from the 16th century. Lucky us had a double bed plus a single, since Spanish double beds can be quite small. Located inside the old city wall.

United KingdomWas a nightmare to drive to what with roadworks, one way streets, pedestrian zones. Any bikers I advise approach from nearest main road and ignore sat nav. Then it's easy.
This was great for me. Real oldy type feel to building. Expected Frodo to pop out at any minute. Great location. Clean. Comfortable. I payed £38 which is fair. Parked moto right outside (maybe not legal but seemed OK).

United KingdomSadly we didn’t get to hang out on the cavernous bar on the ground floor of the lodging house. We stayed on a Monday night and it was closed.
We booked our room just an hour or so before our arrival. We were very grateful for the prompt replies to our questions about parking. It meant we could park quickly, which was very much appreciated, as this was a much needed break on a long journey from the UK to Southern Spain. We really loved the authentic antiquity of Fonda del Tozal. It’s rustic with no frills, but the room was charming and quiet, the bed was comfortable the bedlinen clean and bathroom clean with plenty of hot water. The host was very friendly and despite the language barrier it was lovely of home to shown his charming little garden terrace and paintings of his relatives that adorned the rooms of his office.

United KingdomInitial impression on arrival was 'unsure ' but soon dispelled
An amazing ancient building well located near the central Plaza . The rooms were basic and varied in size and daylight and you need to be fairly fit to deal with the stairs especially with baggage , but it was full of character . No facilities as such and It's not for anyone who wants a modern average hotel but we four loved it . Initial impressions on arrival were a little unsure as the hotel is above an 'interesting' bar' and the entrance is upstairs through a door beside the bar . It suited us fine - we were able to park our motorbikes nearby and it was very close to the centre with bars and restaurants .

United KingdomThe room was quite small, understandably as the building is old. Great for one or two nights stay to explore the town. We loved Teruel!
We had a good experience, the building is a very old inn and the owner was friendly!

United KingdomMy room was absolutely beautiful, white, simple, iron bedstead, old wooden floorboards and doors and a view down to the Fonda's central courtyard overflowing with flowers. Really excellent value and such a privilege to stay in an ancient building such as this.

United KingdomThere is no lift in the building so expect to lug your cases up the beautiful stairs, especially if you stay on the top floor. Room was slightly on the dark side but this matched the decor. There is nothing else that we do not like about this place.
The property dates back to the 1500s and the owner was extremely friendly and told us a brief history. It is a beautiful old building above a very popular bar (same owner) in the town of Teruel. Love the property and the rooms - all decorated with antique furniture. We stayed on the top floor and the beautiful spacious room was old, complete with original oak beams and original uneven floor tiles. Although there was only the room had a further 2 extra beds.

SpainNo lift and not enough storage space for clothes. No wardrobe, need at least some shelves etc. Only 1 key per room which resulted in noisy guests banging on doors in the early hours to get into their rooms. It was a fiesta weekend so maybe it's not a problem in normal circumstances. Otherwise, we loved it all
Fantastic location in the centre of Old town. Perfect service from staff. Clean and comfortable bed, lots of original features in this 16th century inn. Great bar below with lots of character.

SpainThis is more an observation but I didn't think the accommodation had wifi it was not until the following morning that I realised the wifi information was posted on the office door which is now closed and it could clearly be seen. When we arrived the door that was open in such a way that you couldn't see the free wifi information. Also you have to pay for parking and it was quite expensive
