Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHaving stayed before 3-4 years ago and having highlighted the main bed not being comfortable had hoped for a better situation this time.It really isn't comfortable at all.The matress is part it's best and the base appears to be bodged together. The only other thing is the lack of some utensils and cooking crockery ie a lasagne type dish.
Good sized property for our needs close to where our frei nds live. This is our second time staying.we had a few problems with showers which were sorted out straight away.

United KingdomStairs and floor between the two smallest rooms exceptionally squeaky. Central heating came on at 5am when I checked the settings appeared to be target of 35 degrees. Turned off and changed settings the next day. For the family bathroom could not see anywhere obviose to hang wet towels.
Roomy downstairs and main bedroom, detached nice and quiet. Room for two cars on the driveway. All the normal kitchen facilities and private garden. Better than a hotel when travelling as a family with multiple adults.

United KingdomIt was all excellent. If I had to suggest something, it would be some more serving dishes in the kitchen.
The house was very close to my mother's house (too small to house us all) and we needed a house to accommodate 5 people over Christmas, as our home had burst pipes. It was also really nice to have milk, eggs, chocolates etc left by the hosts for our arrival. The house is also really close to the railway station, so our daughter was able to get the train there from London and walk to the house. In addition, the hosts were really responsive to a problem with one of the toilets.

United KingdomShortage of loo roll (good job only 3 of us were able to come instead of the 5) Lots of Cobwebs and dirty marks on walls. Need more teaspoons. Surprised to find dishwasher full... Clean but full. Didn't expect to think about emptying it
The house served its purpose and the important parts were very clean.

United KingdomThe king size bed in the big bedroom was AWFUL! The hardness might be a matter of personal preference, but you can feel the springs poking through the mattress. Please note that if you go there to have a sound sleep, and you have children or people waking up at different times than you, is not advisable as the floor boards on the hallway and the bunk bed room make a really terrible noise. The summer house was very dusty and not clean enough to want to sit there. We made an effort to dust and clean ourselves when we got there as it was a lovely space. The rest of the house was spotless. There were no dish washing tablets and we bought some and left a couple for the next visitors (not a biggie, more a note for the hosts). There were bins for recycling but no explanations were provided and the compost box was full of water and we couldn't use it + no compost bags provided. In just 3 days, 5 people, we sadly created lots of rubbish that we did our best to recycle correctly but the previous guests had messed all the bins already, that were full anyway.
The house is a detached 3 bedroom house in a beautiful, quiet residential location in a beautiful neighborhood. It was clean and it was very easy to get there and gain access. Parking space for 2 cars to the side of the house. The host was lovely and kept in touch and helped process payment when booking.com seemed to have some errors. The kitchen was spacious enough for 6 people, kitted with everything we needed to prepare food and had lovely plates. It feels like a home away from home. There is a convenience store in 5 minutes walking distance and Morissons 5 minutes car drive away. The livingroom is spacious and the sofa comfortable. The garden was private and sunny. There was a master bedroom with en-suite and king size bed, a room with a double bed and a room with bunk beds. The hosts kindly allowed us to check out at 11.45, which we greatly appreciated.

United KingdomThe bed in the ensuite room was uncomfortable, with a wooden board under the matress. The base of the bed, near where the socket is, was covered in dust. There were cobwebs in the lounge and lots of dust under the legs of the nest of tables.
The comfortable sofas in the lounge, big t.v. and closeness to our relatives who we were visiting.

United KingdomThe beddings are old and worn. Mattresses on double bunk are too flat and feel much like a mat. Shower in bathroom leaks. Microwave cover required. Put clear instructions on the fridge temperature and the light controls.

Absolutely lovely house with great character. Facilities were 100% spot on. Maybe have a fan available but it was particularly hot and humid when we stayed. Great contact with host and would definitely stay again!!! Kids (4 & 5) absolutely loved it!!!!! They wanted to move in!

United KingdomVery dissatisfied with the level of cleanliness. The filter in the cooker hood was dripping with grease. My nephew couldn’t use the high chair as it was filthy. The straps were absolutely disgusting. Stale smell as you walked through the front door. Tumble dryer was on when we walked through door with the last people’s towels. Linen was clean, however when we stripped the beds this morning as we left the pillows were stained with god knows what. Couldn’t get tv’s on. If you have light sleeping children I wouldn’t recommend this property as the floors and doors are really noisy. The whole house could do with a make over.
House was a great size, kids loved the garden shed. Parking was excellent. Host answered promptly when txt about keys.
