The guest house is very close to a busy road and traffic noise starts early in the morning. The nature of the house its age and style mean that it is dark inside and rather old-fashioned in style.

Breakfast was good. Continental but included fresh soft fruit. There was also the opportunity to boil your own egg. Host was friendly and helpful. Place was vey quiet, scarcely any other guests. Room was warm and usefully had a small table and chairs. It also had a very useful fridge.

The bed was too soft for me.

We had a ground floor room so could drive to the front door of the room and park - which was very handy during the verr frequent rainy days!. We had a microwave and fridge in the room which was very handy. The continental breakfast was very comprehensive - especially the boiler for boiled eggs; which were delicious with toast & marmite. Great choices of different type of yogurt, fruit, bread, croissants, juices, cereal and preserves.

The room was next to a busy road. But it was ok overnight. The room was a little dated.

The room had a Microwave oven and fridge as well as a kettle. The room had its own entrance. It was possable to park my car directly outside my room.

The breakfast is very continental so if you're looking for a warm breakfast you'll need to go elsewhere but I wouldnt even say its a bad thing its just not necessarily for everyone, and good to know beforehand.

The rooms were lovely and clean and the person at the front desk was lovely and helpful adn had a great personality, which made it very welcoming.

Window had been left open and room was full of midges and mosquitos. Mattress dipped in middle, needed replacing. Shower did not work properly. When mentioned to staff was given a reason for it not working and that it would be fixed but no apology given for inconvenience. Our friends had the room next door which had a shower that worked and no midges so maybe we were just unlucky

Achilty Guest House was ideally located for our trip from Newcastle en route to Ullapool for the Lewis morning ferry. it has its own roomy parking area as well.

We needed to hand carry heavy luggages when trying to bring them down for check out although the worker helped while checking in. Except coffee and boiled egg, other items in breakfast was literally cold.

Room was clean. Staff were helpful. Coffee and bolied egg in breakfast was good.

My only negative comment was that we thought it was expensive - it would have been £90 if we’d wanted breakfast included and it was the cheapest we found at the last minute! Not worth that much at the end of the season I’m afraid, £60 would have been better with breakfast included.

It was a clean and comfortable bed for the night. We appreciated that everything was provided as it should be and it was very clean. Thank you.

The limitations for check-in meant we had to change our plans - you have to check in by 8pm, which I found unusual, but it seems that the lovely chap who runs it is doing so single-handedly, so knowing that made it understandable. Good on him.

The shower drain was a bit slow and the noise of the plumbing from other rooms was noticeable, but this wouldn’t stop me from staying again.

Our room was a basic room for 3 people which was on the road side. Once the window was closed it wasn’t an issue. The room seemed to have just been renovated and was a really good size with 3 single beds. We had our dog stay with us for £10 extra. We had everything we needed like enough seats for three, tea, coffee and cups, towels etc and everything worked as it should. We all showered one after the other and as it was an electric shower there was no issue with hot water or water pressure. Plenty of parking too. I would stay again as it was reasonably priced and suited our needs.
