I am rarely wowed, but this cute cottage really had it all. My pre-arrival questions were answered immediately, and with a nice personal touch, and the location is perfectly in between the Old Course and town. It was very nice having so much room and separate sleeping areas, and the laundry was essential to our ability to pack light. The host was there at a moment’s notice when we needed anything, and was generous with checkout and bag storage while we waited for our train. Although we didn’t try the breakfast the menu pictures looked amazing, and I keep wishing we would have tried it. I think my favorite part was the bed, sooo comfortable with what I think was a weighted blanket that made drifting off very easy. I can’t recommend this place enough, and would be delighted to return!

Small - we were only two, but would be too small for four people. On the pricey side! Breakfast available if needed, but very expensive. CCTV at the property which was good, but owners should have notified guests of this.

Quality of furnishings and appliances etc. Its quirkiness! That it was detached. Friendly and immediate assistance when required. Very easily walkable to the town centre. Gardens superb! Breakfast available. Cleaning service every day.

    TV service wasn’t great.

The hosts were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. After staying at 4 other locations with no host on site, it was great to have help with the luggage and to have the host explain the amenities available. The location was walking distance to all the major attractions. We didn’t use our car during the two nights that we stayed there. The facility had two full bathrooms, which is unusual for a one bedroom apartment.

The gym room is rather small.

The managers are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The cottage is very cosy and peaceful, yet so central! Cottage is new and amenities are stylish. Interior done with a lot of love to detail. Can only recommend this place and we will certainly return!

There was only one thing that we didn't like and that was leaving. However, knowing that we'd be back at some point brought a smile to our face and replaced any feelings of sadness.

Loved the uniqueness of the interior of the cottage. Yufei and Ilya have created a home that is truly wondrous to behold and we feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to share it with them. They are a truly wonderful and generous couple.

The en suite shower is within a freestanding tub. A bit tricky to shower without making the whole bathroom wet. We just showered in the other bathroom. Not sure how comfortable the foldout sofas would be to sleep on since we didn't use those for beds.

Amazing location in town, a short walk to everything! The hosts were perfectly lovely and accomodating. The apartment was well appointed with everything needed. Bed was comfy!

The house had far too many 'ornaments.' Giant cactus in living room is not boutique. Living/kitchen space is quite small so needs less unnecessary items in it. 3 tables in seated area is 2 too many. I personally don't like a tv in the bedroom and the tv was huge - doesn't make for a calming zen. These of course are personal opinions and I recognise other people will have different viewpoints

It was sourced with the very best of everything i.e. toiletries, hairdryer - dyson, tea selection, coffee/tea maker, televisions, toaster/kettle, diffuser. Fridge had lovely welcome drinks - nice touch. Both bathrooms were devine. Liked the fact it had a parking space.

    Our stay was too short!

The location could not be better. A 2 minute walk and you are at the Old course, 18th fairway. Ailim House is on a very private, secluded street, good off road parking. Access and walk into town could not be better.

I rented the chalet for my son and my niece, who were traveling together. I was under the impression that there were enough beds for 2 people, since it said it could sleep 4. When they arrived, exhausted from weeks of travel, they found that there was only one large bed, and there were 2 couches. The couches did not look like they would provide a decent night's sleep for a grown young man. So, instead of staying there, my son made his way back to his dormitory and slept there for the 3 nights while they were in St. Andrews. If I had known that there was only one bed, I never would have splurged on this chalet! I would have booked a single bed hotel room for my niece. They had been traveling for 2 weeks and were just so exhausted that I wanted them to be able to recharge and rest at a beautiful place with a healthy breakfast. Although the place was beautiful, I feel that the description was misleading and did not suit our purpose for 2 people who were not a couple. It would be better for a family, with Mom & Dad upstairs in the bed, and 2 young children sleeping on the couches in the living room.

The location, building, and grounds were beautiful. It was peaceful yet centrally located. I would definitely recommend. The fact that there was laundry facilities was a huge plus.
