Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel and room is still modern but a bit dated and it needs some love. The way the bedding was arranged did not meet 4 star criteria. It's not very insulated so at night it gets a bit noisy because it's a busy area.
Spacious room, nice bathroom, well equiped, location is fabulous and very convenient, staff is amazing.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to be able to open the blind and let some light in - but it was broken. And the brasserie was not serving evening meals - which could have been useful.
Very friendly/helpful staff

Came with my daughter to a University Open Day. It was just what we needed. A calm and friendly welcome on arrival (after a slightly fraught journey). It's an amazing building with a fascinating visual illusion created by the large mirror on the stairs which kept looking - not like a mirror but like a a hole cut in the wall opening onto another staircase. Our room was spacious and comfortable, perfectly clean, with everything we wanted. A nice chat with three staff as we headed off in the morning - it was interesting to hear a bit about the history of the building and what ABode are doing across the country.

GermanyEverything was clean and welcoming. Well designed and well maintained room. The bed was enormous (good!) though a little too soft. A magnifying mirror in the bathroom would have added the cherry on the cake. Breakfast was slightly disappointing for the rather high price.

United KingdomAir con broke and was stuck on 26 degrees which was unbearable. Unfortunately the windows wouldn’t stay open. And unfortunately the lift had broken, we were told this would only be an hour or two before it would be working again but unfortunately didn’t work our whole stay. For us climbing 4 flights was not an issue however I would imagine different for people who have difficulty mobilising or disabilities.
Property was nice and cosy, nice little touch with a bluetooth speaker which was ideal. Bathroom was lovely, the room was spotless. Staff were really friendly and helpful when the air con didn’t work. Staff mentioned about another room however, none was available to move to. They supplied a portable air con machine, it wasn’t the best but helped slightly and the thought was there.

New ZealandAC not working and shame the brassiere wasn’t open for dinner.
The room was amazing, just as the pictures showed. Spacious, and gorgeous. The AC wasn’t working - which made it quite stuffy. However we did ask for a fan, and one was bought to us by house keeping. Location was central, quiet, and easy to get to the northern quarter. Friendly helpful staff. We had breakfast in her brasserie which was really good with a great server.

United KingdomNo mirror near a plug socket to do my hair. No mirror to keep drinks and meds cool.
Loved almost everything. Room was huge, beautiful original features, huge bed, huge TV, massive bathroom. Everything was lovely and clean. The mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. And the room was quiet even though the location of the hotel is on quite a busy road. The staff were absolutely wonderful. And the food in the restaurant was devine.

United KingdomNoise from room above woke me in the night. It feels like rooms with a bar/breakfast area not a hotel as such. Saturday so busy and people spaced out leaning on steps at entrance (not guests) no one told us when breakfast was and nothing in the room about it either. We had paid for breakfast. Whilst I liked the efforts to have individual pieces of furniture with eclectic theme, it was a bit too confused. Drain for walk in shower positioned in the middle which meant water ends up on the floor.
The building and its history, generous sized bedroom and huge bed. Newly refurbished bathroom, nicely done. Some interesting art, furniture and lighting.
