How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Sometimes the dishes were not very clean, also my room was next to the breakfast preparation room, and I heard some noise in the morning
Very kind and helpful staff. 24h reception and possibility to leave the luggage there during the day. Easily accessible and very well located in London. Nice small breakfast included

Shower cubicle had no plug for the wash basin and so old it had a built-in ashtray!
Very welcoming with clean comfortable bed.

Would add some more different food for breakfast. Many things were missing if you come to eat last half an hour. Otherwise good starter for a tourist day.
Location is perfect to discover whole London by tube. Lot of stuff on walking distance. Staff fixed all things we wanted. There was biggest tv set I have ever seen in a hotel room. Great for movie lovers.

The street outside started to get a bit loud for my liking but hardly the hotels fault.
Bed was very comfortable, room had all the facilities I needed and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast pastries were great too

It’s very dated, quite grubby, and altogether quite expensive for what you get. I can’t recommend it, there’s loads of places that are going to be much cleaner, roomier, more comfortable and looked after with a fair bit more pride than this, for cheaper.

The TV remote didn't work, I think it was for another make of set. Some of the electrical sockets, or which there were plenty didn't work.
The room was large, clean, with well stocked tea making facilities. The shower was clean and suitably powerful. Soap and shampoo etc provided. Clean towels.

Rooms are absolutely boiling; very hot. Travelled in April and they acted like it was the middle of winter. Staff were there to help when you needed it most of the time, but sometimes they were not at reception and there was no bell to ring. They would come into our rooms and 'make' the bed, but never replaced our towels (we tried leaving them in many places, but they were always left where they were (or even put back on the beds))
Breakfast was ok. Random arrangement of things, but free and definitely plenty of it. Location is best thing about this place.

The building itself is very tired and dusty. Old, yellowing paint on the walls and mismatched furniture. The toilet was a bizarre, small air plane style toilet in a cupboard it seemed. But for the location and price and as long as you're not spending a great deal of time there it's perfectly OK as long as you accept you get what you pay for. Would I use them again? Very possibly.
The location is very good. Transport all around and not far to walk to the theaters and the rest of Central London. Price was OK and reflects the standards of the actual hotel. The breakfast was OK. Cereal, bread for you to toast and a bowl with pineapple and peaches. Coffee was remarkably good.

Super small bathroom, I've been in hotels all around the world and never seen the same, the closest will be the airplane bathroom size. For the rest it's in line with expectations of affordable place to stay in extra expensive city of London for family of 4 in 1 room, we were ready for absence of elevator to 2nd floor.
Convenient location - walking distance to the city center and tube stations nearby. Room well fitting for 4 persons. Breakfast included. Hospitality of staff.

The room was right on the stairway. There was a gap between the door and the wall, so stairway light shone through and any noisy from the stairway could be heard. Thankfully it was a quiet night (mid-week). Slightly uncomfortable bed.
Fairly varied breakfast. Filter coffee. Friendly staff member on front desk.

Private bathroom was too small. Upon arrival we were questioned by a member of staff asking "you're staying here" when he asked if we were checking in so he came across a bit rude to my partner and I.
Room was big, location was good not far from Camden Town.
