Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere were a few issues - some very minor, some larger: Issue with Blatches Farm - No soap tray or shelf in shower, so had to put things on the floor - The towels were nice, but too small for showering - No hooks to put your coat on - No electric toothbrush socket - Shower not for tall people - could have been set higher up - Wifi OK but patchy - The duvet was a little thin - but a blanket was provided when I asked - Netflix etc didn't work in my sons' room. I raised this and was told they didn't really know how to work the TVs, and that it might be to do with Wifi but they didn't really know. I didn't sense they really tried to sort out the issue as they didn't mention it again, and I was a bit unsatisfied with the response. I tried fiddling with the settings myself but without success. - There was a power cut in the evening one night. It wasn’t a major issue since we didn’t mind calling it an early night, but there was no communication, and I was unable to reach the hosts by knocking on the farmhouse door (and it was raining heavily), via the Bookings.com contact button or by phone (I left a message). I didn’t mention it the next day since it sounded like they’d had a hard night, but I was surprised nothing was mentioned, and I do wonder whether any of the messages got though.
The farm is just a short walk from the Flitch Way, which we really enjoyed walking along. It was lovely staying on a farm, and it was set back from the road so fairly quiet. The room was comfortable and clean, and there was plenty of hot water. The full English breakfast was excellent and the hosts were very friendly. Wifi was available in rooms (though not 100% reliable). Peacocks roam freely on the farm - which my sons really liked.

United KingdomWe do not feel that there was anything we did not like as it was perfect for what we needed
We really enjoyed our stay, all staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The location is ideal for travelling around the area and is very quiet and relaxing. The room was excellent, clean and well stocked for the things you need. Parking was ideal as you can park right outside your room and of course the Breakfast was first class, we had no issues and would like to stay again.

United KingdomWe were not early to breakfast, and while it was served very quickly, the downside was that some items had clearly been standing a while and were not hot. It was our first visit and in the dark, did not see the signs until fourth time of passing. Use the map on the app for directions - we used the postcode and satnav, which was not accurate enough.
Host was very helpful and everyone was very friendly. Very well located for us, visiting relatives in Great Dunmow, and clearly handy for Stansted airport and various attractions in the area. Accommodation very good for overnight stays.

United KingdomThere is nothing I did not like but be aware that the exit from main road can be hard to see in the dark and sat nav may not locate this. Also be aware that there is a crematorium on site,.
I loved the stable block rooms, and the quiet remote location. The hosts were friendly and chatty, but the cat and dogs also were keen to say hello. There is also a pair of peacocks spotted on site. Directly out onto footpaths for walks or early morning runs. Quickly cooked breakfast and another chance to chat to those that work here.

United KingdomRight from the moment we got to the Farm, we were met with a warm welcome, the room was lovely, the bed was sooooo comfortable, brilliant, peaceful nights sleep. We got there early evening, there is a little pub down the road that does food, or, local companies do food delivery to your door - who can ask for more Breakfast was absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, wonderful ingredients and loved the setting for breakfast, have serious envy over the pew - really well done

United KingdomThe uneven ground leading up to the accommodation.
Quiet, clean and cosy. The owner Liz, was unperturbed by our delayed arrival, very welcoming and friendly. She had already built a rapport with my brother and his wife with whom we were meeting up and this extended to us and continued over the length of our stay. The staff were equally pleasant and welcoming, very chatty and helpful. We felt that they would have done their best to accommodate any reasonable requests.
