Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom"Breakfast on the go" was surprisingly meagre given the standard of the accommodation: packet of cornflakes and a Happy Valley oat bar plus small carton of apple juice and an apple, though milk for the cornflakes apple and juice were in a mini-fridge, which was good. It would have been much better to have, in addition, say a croissant with butter and jam or cheese, or a breakfast hamper like the one I got at the following night's accommodation, with a variety of cereals, bread and waffles for toasting and variety of jams and fruits, and a napkin! The towel in the shower was also disappointingly meagre. Television signal was poor so picture and sound kept breaking up. Property was difficult to find - I drove round the village 3 times before locating it. The address is given as Church Street but it is in fact in Station Road, and the Curly Tail sign can be seen only when approaching from the west. (It is located in the curtilage of the Blue Boar, which is in Church Street, but the Curly Tail building and the access is in Station Road.)
Exceptionally well appointed room with comfortable bed and plenty of space. Spacious bathroom with excellent shower, off an entrance lobby so not directly connected to the bedroom.

United KingdomThe breakfast was very disappointing; just porridge which my husband doesn't like! There were no decaf teas or coffee, and we were very surprised to find loose unwrapped tea bags on the tray The TV reception was very poor so terestial TV was unwatchable. Sadly the internet connection was also poor so Netflix wouldn't run either!
The property was lovely and clean throughout with enough space.

CanadaThe fact that there are no staff that you can contact on site could be problematic in certain cases. That wasn't the case for me, but if you did need something or something went wrong, I'm not sure how it would be resolved, but this is not unique to this property as I have discovered on my travels.
The property provided a perfectly comfortable bed along with basic kitchen facilities which were useful. It was quiet, warm and perfectly agreeable.

United KingdomThe front door would need draught excluders in cold weather. There was no way to just turn on tv and watch it. (No signal) Most folk May have their own devices but unfortunately, not I.
Extremely nicely furnished and decorated Quality fittings It was great for time of year - neither too hot nor cold.

United KingdomBreakfast was a tub of make your own porridge. A health bar & a pot of orange juice each.Enough left in room for2 days. Was unaware of this as we expected a cooked English breakfast. Left without eating the 2nd days as we couldn’t face it so had a good breakfast on way home. Also hand wash on wash basin but bottles in showers completely empty & no where to put our own stuff fiddly trying to shower having to hold shower gel & hair wash in your hands. Frightened of slipping as both of us aged 79. Owner not seen at all no checking in on us. Left to make own beds etc. We thought we were getting a traditional B & B so we were disappointed.
Cleanliness excellent.

United KingdomSoundproofing a potential issue. Noise from the occupants of the adjacent room was initally loud and clear. Once they had realised the situation, there was no problem. TV signal kept breaking up. Had to watch the rugby on my phone.
Immaculate and spacious room. Excellent walk-in shower - more like a car wash! WiFi signal and speed were spot on. Owner was on hand and most helpful (thanks).

United KingdomThe bathroom would benefit from being refurbished and we visited during a heatwave, the bedroom had no windows so the large fan had to do a lot of work! The owner was on holiday so the pub was shut and no breakfasts were available, we hadn’t pre-booked but notice of this would have been appreciated as Bishops Castle is a small town so we struggled to reserve a table for our evening meal.
The room was accessed independently from outside so it didn’t feel like a room in a pub or a B&B. Everything was clean and tidy and the room was well presented. If using the area as a base for walking then a benefit of this accommodation is the room had a small entrance hall where boots and wet weather gear could be removed.

United KingdomUnfortunately the automated booking had a glitch and it took us a little time to get into the room, We were fortunate that there was a very helpful Chef on site who was very attentive, otherwise things could have been difficult.
Room was excellent all the services that we needed, and a very nice bath. There was sufficient electrical connections and internet to communicate and to charge everything for the next day. The accommodation is located well for eating and provisioning in a very nice town.
