Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The communication beforehand was excellent and the property really easy to find. The location was excellent and the facilities exactly what we need for our stay. The biscuits, milk, tea, coffee and cereal were a really nice welcoming gift. The rooms were spacious and there was plenty of drawers and wardrobes for clothing which meant we could really settle in.

United KingdomSignage could be clearer. We ended up in the private residential area initially, only finding our apartment after wandering around on foot.
Location was great, within easy reach of town centre and routes out of town.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi was not totally reliable but a quick phone call to the linked hotel soon put it on again
It was warm, clean& very quiet.- very close to a local shop- useful as we didn’t have a car. Use of the leisure facilities at the parent hotel was very useful but a 25 minute walk away down hill & up on return - still very pleasant to go for a swim.

JerseyI missed not having some kind of reception when l arrived l think if l were arriving from another country l might want to ask a few questions about things but here there was no one only 'phone no.
I liked all the things l've mentioned. Having a nice big television. It was nice and peaceful and easy to get good rest in a very comfortable bed. Good parking and within easy access to town

GuernseyHard beds? 😔 Why is everyone choosing hard mattresses these days? I’m finding it’s happening everywhere. Gives me backache. Not good. We would stay there again but only for a short stay. I could not sleep on that mattress for 2 weeks. The shower is AWFUL!! When everything was so good it’s a disappointment when the shower is pathetic. Water pressure was very low upstairs. Needed to turn the basin tap 3 turns before a drip came out. We travelled earlier than expected due to bad weather and struggled to contact the owner as it was a weekend and the contact number is an answerphone. We emailed and got a reply saying someone would phone us in an hour. Didn’t happen. We then received another email saying unit was ready for us. When you are away a phone call is preferable to an email due to WiFi/roaming issues. Once we arrived on site trying to identify the units was difficult as the numbers are tucked inside the porches. It was necessary to park and check the numbers on foot.
Location is great, edge of town, set back from road so zero road noise. Unit is a good size and solid build. (No paper thin walls). Sofa bed turned out to be a proper double bed which folded against the wall. A nice surprise and less hassle than a sofa bed. Sofas were comfortable and excellent condition. Kitchen was well stocked except only 1 oven shelf!! Not great when we had guests and were cooking dinner for 5.

United KingdomWe knew the location was just outside St Helier but found the undulating walk each day a bit tiresome, as we did not have a car with us, and had booked to go to restaurants in St. Helier.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, we had all we needed for a short stay.

AustraliaI don’t think the photos did it justice and the apartment was much better than I expected. it’s over two levels and I liked having a lot of space. We enjoyed the full kitchen and comfortable beds. it’s about a 30ish min walk to the main part of St Helier but we like to get our steps up so perfect for us. The bus is also easy to get, my husband caught it home once or twice when he didn’t want to walk up the hill.

BelgiumThe location
The apartment we stayed in was spacious and clean but the location felt sterile and soulless. Also, it’s not really within what I consider walking distance to the city centre. I think these facilities are more geared towards business travellers. I would not recommend it for holidays or families with children. We spent our days exploring the island and only came back to the apartment to eat and sleep. If you’re travelling for business, this is not a bad place to stay. However, if you’re looking for holiday accommodation, I would give Uplands a pass.

GermanyThe whole interior was provided for two people only. Two chairs, two glasses, two cups, two knifes etc. which gives you very limited options especially when cooking your own meals. Even though the heating devises were turned down we felt a remaining warm surface when coming home on evenings, so we had to open all windows and doors in order to cool down the apartment every evening. The flushing of the toilet is a very old fashion system which didn’t work reliably. Hence, we had to use our craftsmen skills from time to time in order to have sufficient water flow. Finally, the WLAN connection is absolutely unacceptable. Each apartment is having its own SSID but all networks are provided through one router only using obviously the same transmitting frequency. We had to use our mobile data roaming in order to get access to internet which is in these days not acceptable any more.
The spacious apartment is located a bit outside of the city center of St. Helier in a quiet suburb which ensures peaceful rest and relaxation. But it is still close enough to reach the shopping street and famous “Liberty Wharf” within a 15 min walk. Those coming by car will have a dedicated parking lot and one will also find a washing machine as well as a tumble dryer. Although the interior is of very british style it is comfortable and sufficient for two tenants. The kitchen is equipped with basic stuff, like cutlery, pots and pan and dishes. The bathroom even provides a bathtub.

United KingdomVery small kitchen area. Not enough electrical sockets. Carpet (I think ) needs replacing or refitting.
It was a good apartment, 25min walk (up hill) to the apartment. Good little place to stay. I lowered the value rating only because the money we paid I would expect what we had. Jersey is not a cheap place to stay but os a wonder place to visit. So all in all a good apartment, and an OK price.
