Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe room is small, however that’s what was clearly advertised. The place in an around the property can have some work done to make it look a little better.

United StatesNo table in the room and no place to put a second bag. Wardrobes were useless to us. Chair inside would have been nice. Need to figure out the restaurant situation. Breakfast was good but dinner was canceled so we had to take a taxi into town since there was no parking there.
Location was great. View was awesome. People were helpful and friendly. Room concept was cool.

AustraliaCold poached eggs on the smoked haddock for breakfast.
Tremendous location. Good bar and restaurant. The grilled langoustines were particularly delicious. The full Scottish breakfast was just right. The staff were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to help when necessary.

United StatesCabin had almost no hooks for coats or towels, and bathroom had only one small shelf for toiletries. Two people staying in room--should have at least two hooks for towels. Poor sink design with result that water splashed all over floor. For the cost of the room, it should have had a few basics to make our stay easier.
Breakfast very good. Close to town for restaurants and shops.

United KingdomWasn't able to manage the air-conditioner - waked up because it is too hot after one-hour sleeping and thus turned it off (not cold in April anyway). I would consider the facilities somewhere between 2-star and 3-star, probably only shower towels are of 4-star, indicating that the value for money is pretty low. The gravel road surface makes it impossible to pull wheeled suitcases. Wifi signal is too weak to be useful, and thus nothing is available on TV (which seems to depend on wifi).
It is a good experience to be so close to nature. The staff is nice and helpful and the room is clean. It's good to see the improvement (from what I saw in earlier comments) about night lights by roads and helpers to carry luggages.

SwitzerlandNothing big. These are all minor issues: - No lights on the path to the houses. It gets pretty dark and we generally had to help ourselves with a light from our telephone. - Internet is pretty slow, especially when multiple people are using it.
- Very unique and well-designed little houses - very cozy, too. We could hear the rain on our roof and it was amazing. - The shower is surprisingly spacious. - The breakfast is amazing - you get to pick from a list of hot dishes every morning and they create it for you (e.g. a full scottish breakfast or pancakes).

United KingdomThe parking is a bit strange. The customer car park is a few hundred feet from the hub. Then the rooms are a further walk. Would make sense to maybe swap the staff and customer parking about. Also pretty disappointed that the sauna was not working when we went and seemed to be a major selling point of the hotel
Great views, the rooms and very cosy. Like the heated floors in the cabins. The hub is very pleasant too. The breakfast was delicious.

United KingdomThe path to the room could be better lit but nothing you can't solve with a phone torch. Porch could have a little side table by the lounge chairs A couple of hooks to hang your coat by the door would be handy (plenty of storage in the room though!)
Excelent room with amazing view, very confortable bed Quiet and serene location with free parking 5 star breakfast with à la carte service. Nice restaurant for dinner (on the pricier side). Stylish bar for cocktails in the evening Nice sauna + cold plunge pool (try it!) Our dog loved sniffing around the property and he had loads of space to run around. Super friendly and efficient staff! Will definitely return.

AustraliaThe footpath to our room was extremely rutted out and collapsed, we were at the furthest and highest point for accommodation, but this would have made it better for us walking often back and forth on the footpath. And the only other thing is we would have enjoyed having our floor vacuumed or swept in between nights as it got very dirty quickly and there was not a dustpan for us to use ourselves.
The included breakfast was excellent and the service from staff was also fantastic. The rooms were smaller than expected however very nice with the furnishings. We loved the sheep grazing outside this made our experience very unique from the rest of our stays in Scotland.

United KingdomWhilst the pods were excellent they needed extra hooks to hang coats etc. In an ideal world the hotel would introduce a drying pod akin to a boot room at a ski resort for walking gear to dry out. The breakfast was sadly very disappointing. Whilst I appreciate that there was a focus on cooked breakfasts (which were very average to be honest) the continental breakfast offer was not of the standard I would expect from a hotel of this standard - limited cereal choice (both high sugar), no granola, fresh fruit or cheeses - very poor.
The location was excellent and the customer service exceptional. Really liked the pod concept, central hub and saunas.

IsraelWe don't mind the sheep walking around (they are cute), but during all of our stay (3 nights) nobody removed the manure from the path to our cabbin. The hot water has a small container, if you like long hot showers it's not for you. The room can be chilly if the floor hatches are open.
It's a very unique, hobbit hut, the food is good, the sauna is very good, the cabbin is not big but it has everything you need. We had a very good dinner in the main building.

United StatesI only have one issue with the little hideaways. In my opinion they need at least one window for ventilation. In the hot months, the door is not sufficient for air flow, nor do the doors face in the direction of the prevailing wind. I also did not want to sleep with my door open at night. The property does have a fan in the hideaway which helps.
The little hideaways are so cute and comfortable. Mine was placed next to a little stream that I could pleasantly hear. The restaurant was very good as well as the service. I especially enjoyed the bar area and bartenders.

United StatesThe space between the bathroom door and the sink was small, making it pretty hard to get into the shower with the door closed. In addition, we were able to make it work, but we didn't realize there were limited hours for the plunge pool and sauna, and didn't realize breakfast was included - these are things that we would've liked to know either from the website or upon booking!
The breakfast was great and the grounds and amenities were absolutely beautiful. It felt like we were staying in a fairytale setting! We ate at the restaurant on site and really enjoyed our experience, not to mention the views from everywhere on the site were stunning. We also loved waking up to sheep in our front yard area!

United StatesSince there were was no air conditioning we asked for a bug screen so we could leave the door open at night to cool off the room. They had one screen left they brought it up but the Velcro to attach it was not on our door as needed. We were disappointed that no attempt to fix it was made it was made it was more of a “oh well”. I my mind every cabin should have one.
