Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo welcome pack (seems to have been oversight by cleaners) No toilet rolls and nowhere open to buy them. (Oversight again!) No wine glasses. Poor access to front sitting area (needs some form of steps) Front patio set rusty and needs replacing. Operating instructions for hob unit needed (may even be faulty)
Breakfast not applicable. Location beautiful and very quiet. For self-catering, take own groceries as no shops in Dale to purchase anything.

United KingdomSomething small, parking was tricky when guests arrived for the other attached properties. Bigger TV maybe for relaxing with a movie after walking the dog…I guess that’s just a personal preference.
Location was outstanding, felt like the end of everywhere and away from lots of people. Lovely property spec, lots of nice details. All rooms immaculately presented and comfortable. Close to other beautiful areas of Wales too!

United Kingdomsmall niggles are: lots of dead spiders throughout the property. no welcome pack which many do - we arrived late and the local pub was shut at 10pm and no milk to have a cuppa. heating is not controlled from the cottage so when the weather turned cold and wet we couldn’t turn it on.
location is stunning. Listening to the waves outside the window was fabulous. it’s a beautiful little cottage with everything you need in a small space. The benches for all the cottages to share outside the front are a lovely touch.

Brook Cottage is a perfect space for 2. It is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Very warm and cosy with a fabulous power shower. It’s in a great location, directly across the road from the beach, a perfect spot for a glass of wine watching the sun set. It is right on the Pembrokeshire coast path so plenty of great walks from the door. Nice places to eat within walking distance too.

United KingdomStinking bed, even my partner who has a poor sense of smell couldn't sleep due to horrendous foul smell. It took 2 days for owner to bring new bedding (we had to wait til lunchtime - precious holiday time) but on leaving discovered it was the mattress that had huge urine stains on and blood. No apology even though she admitted she knew about the blood stains. Cheap rickety bed. Mould on skirting boards. Rendor mesh still visible on the property not finished enough for guests. Owners building new house behind (noisy). The washing machine is in a depilated shed across the driveway that stinks of cat wee and full of building materials. It stated one was available and we had assumed it was in the property. They own the rest of the letting properties on the row too but haven't allocated enough parking is everyone there. Leaving is awkward when anyone else there, guests/trades. We thought paying circa £160 a night out of season (which is a lot for us) for a tiny property would get us something good. The pictures looked great. Very different story. The letting agent Pembrokeshire Property Management was really bad at getting back to us. And didn't even respond re complaint. And Booking.com have been no help. 4 bad nights sleep on a much needed holiday, So disappointed.
The location is right on the main road into Dale and if you stand at the window you can see the sea over the wall and a great view of the massive power station across the water. The temp of the water was also warmer here than other Pembrokeshire beaches - maybe more sheltered- maybe to do with power station? Made morning swims easier though.

United KingdomOwners very kindly left bottle of wine however maybe be nice to have some wine glasses provided. Was not an issue for us as we visited in October, but the beach in front of cottage is not dog friendly in Summer months. Parking a bit cramped if all cottages occupied.
Property is very close to the beach and is dog friendly. Well equipped with all needed for a relaxing break.

United KingdomTea, coffee and condiment supplies such as cooking oil, salt and pepper, kitchen roll and hand soap not provided in kitchen area (other than a couple of tea bags/coffee sachets when arrived). Also no recycling facilities in the property. Would have been good to have a pint of milk on arrival as there is no local shop to buy any.
