Everything was as expected or better than expected.

We had an excellent two-night stay at Carinya in mid-October. Hosts David and Janet were very welcoming and thoughtful before and during our stay. They gave us some great ideas for the short time we were in the Brecon Beacons area. Breakfast was made to order and tasted great! We would definitely stay again when we go back to Wales!

Hosts were very welcoming and always obliging. The room was comfortable, with good bathroom facilities. Breakfast was of a high standard, with a good choice of cooked options alongside cereals, fruit salad and yoghourts. Talgarth is a convenient location for visiting Hay-on-Wye (under 15 minute's drive), and also for Brecon and the Brecon Beacons. There are two good restaurants (pub and Nepalese) in Talgarth itself- both within easy walking distance from Carinya. We would certainly stay there again in future.

The stay with David & Janet was magnificent! The room was everything we needed and very comfortable. David and Janet were very friendly, always up for a chat and so knowledgable about the area and had so much advice on what to do. Also the personalised breakfast every morning was a great treat. Talgarth is a nice little town and has a few good places to eat or enjoy a sunday roast. We would definitively stay here again for our next trip to brecon beacons.

David and Janet were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating hosts. They went over and above to make my stay a pleasant one and even let me put my motorbike in the garage. The breakfast was great and there are 2 pubs within easy walking distance for an evening meal. I would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at Carinya! It felt more like visiting relatives (the nice kind) than staying at a B&B. Breakfast was excellent (with a view of their beautiful garden), everything was spotless and it was lovely to relax outside in the evening. Would love to come back some day!

Transport - Bus services limited - Brecon - Hereford via Hay -on-Wye (also Builth Wells -Abergavenny) and needs planning if not using own vehicle.

Our hosts, David & Janet were very welcoming and attentive - arrived to the offer of a brew and cake! Property, a bungalow, is very well appointed. Guests bedroom with ensuite wet room with walk in shower, comfortable bed, adequate storage and with brewing facilities provided - everything throughout on one level. A beautiful garden with outdoor seating available to guests. Breakfast served in extension overlooking the garden. Excellent breakfast choice including cooked options plus fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt etc. Location perfect for visiting the Brecon Beacons area and further afield. Village has Co-op, Chinese takeaway, Fish and Chips outlet, 2 pubs, all within easy walking distance. Large free car park in village for those requiring a parking location. Could not wish for better hosts or facilities and would certainly visit again

The garden was absolutely stunning and great to look out at the birds when having breakfast, so relaxing. The room and whole house was really clean and just right for a lovely two night stay. Thank you David and Janet for a very enjoyable stay, you made us feel very welcome and provided information on walks and other activities in the area - the perfect hosts. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the garden was beautiful and peaceful to sit out in. The breakfast was of excellent quality with a good selection of fresh fruits, cereals, yogurt and fully cooked breakfast to keep you going on a a day out in the mountains.

It would have been nice if there was no rain, however you can't have everything I guess.

I only wanted a cereal breakfast of which five were provided along with fruit and yogurt. I cannot comment on any cooked breakfast. The view out the backyard was very pleasurable as Janet did an amazing job on it. Lots of birds including a Robin-red-breast! Their information and attitude were fabulous. The town is small however it has enough eateries to give you a choice and suffice. The town also has a Co-op, plus butcher with their own slaughterhouse to feed the kites. Lots of local walks from easy to hard.

David and Janet were lovely hosts and very helpful & accomodating. Their property is immaculate - very well looked after. Rooms were clean and cosy and I was also able to sit out in their garden. They also left a little treat in the room which was a nice touch!. I had their cooked breakfast which was delicious. Very reasonably priced for what you get and that area of Wales. Definitely recommend!

We were made feel very welcome on our arrival by Janet and David. Janet served us delicious homemade coffee cake and lovely light welsh cakes. Their house and garden is immaculate. They were both incredibly helpful and had great advice for walks and amenities in the area.

Having to leave

David and Janet, we're the perfect hosts, going over, above and beyond expectations. We were greeted with coffee and homemade cake- which was fantastic. The breakfast was equally fantastic. The accommodation was lovely and very comfortable, would definitely go back and highly recommend. I don't usually give reviews but felt it was too good not to.
