How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing to dislike!!
Absolutely EVERYTHING!! The hosts were welcoming and went out of their way to make sure all our needs were met! The house is in a great location and the room is GORGEOUS! Top it all off with a delicious breakfast and you have a fantastic venue!

Parking could be a problem particularly in the summer as there’s a restriction on permits and the cost of parking on the street is very expensive.
Room was lovely, bed comfy and breakfast was delicious with a great choice. Hosts were very friendly and caring. Lived up to our expectations.

That we only had two nights. Would have loved to stay longer.
Everything. The location was excellent, the room was wonderful and a great place to relax after the days exertions. Of special not, our hosts Chris and Sonia were incredibly nice. Breakfast was filling, with Chris demonstrating his excellent piano skills. A lovely touch was Sonia giving us pastries for the homeward journey. Will def stay again.

The owners are genuinely friendly: when we arrived sat us down, had a chat and made us a cup of tea which was appreciated! The location is just a stone's throw from the beach the rooms were very comfortable and spotless and the breakfast one of the best I've had.

Only permit parking close to the property, but owner took us to a free parking space and brought us backlovely owners and comfy bed and great breakfadt
Owner was very accommodating. Arranged an early full cooked breakfast.

Hosts so welcoming had saved a parking spot for me. Breakfast choices included smoked salmon and scrambled egg ( delicious) as well as the usual options. Large room comfortable bed lovely decor .

My friend & I had a lovely room which had very comfortable beds and everything we could want. The hosts were very friendly & informative. We had a great breakfast, with the added benefit of lovely piano playing which was wonderful. I would totally recommend a stay, be it for a night or more, we wished we could have stayed longer.

The fact I had to leave and go home :(
The entire stay from start to finish was amazing. Nothing was too much hassle. The room was beautiful and super clean and the breakfast was outstanding, we even got a beautiful bit of piano played for us.

Parking wasn't great & away from property,but was free&we were saved a space by owner,so no moan there &were greatful for their help in sorting it for us.
We were met on arrival & given a nice cup of tea to warm us up on a very cold wet day. Very friendly &warm greeting. A lovely spacious, clean &tidy room, couldn't of asked for better. A lovely cooked full English breakfast next Day. Just great all around, will hopefully return again soon. Many Thanks

Everything was lovely and clean and hospitality was first class. We were greeted by the owners who made our stay more pleasant. The room was lovely and clean and cozy. Bed was lovely and tea and coffee making facilities. The owner took us to a parking place and then drove us to the harbour front. The breakfast was lovely and they went out of there way to meet our dietary requirements. Amazing surprise was the owner played the baby grand piano at breakfast time for us the whole experience was first class. Thank you both very much for the wonderful hospitality.

See above. They could not of been more attentive without being intrusive. The playing of a piano at breakfast was a new ce touch
