Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe stay here quite a lot, and sometimes the double rooms are wonderful and sometimes they feel very standard. This time we had a room on the 4th floor which I think is a modern wing. The mattress was very hard, and the decor was very dated and mismatched. Its quite variable which experience you have. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, we really like the hotel generally, but the price for a room has risen and the quality hasn't kept pace. Car parking has always been included but this time was extra.
Great location and lovely general facilities. Nice to have a bar and the central location is wonderful. Really friendly staff.

United Kingdomdont expect a view from the room window unless you like brick walls that is. Buffet Breakfast is Ok but as always with a buffet the hot food was dryish as it had been there a while. NB: we stayed again on the 15th June and the food was much better. I think this was because there were far more people and so food turnover was greater. It is a nice hotel but my wife and I both think it is pretending to be something that it isnt, i.e. a very upmarket hotel. In fact in our opinion it is quite ordinary.
Room 223. very helpful in providing a secure location for my pedal cycle. Location is excellent, entrance to the Cathedral just 100mtrs away. Breakfast is a buffet style, extensive range of food.

United KingdomThe evening food was only average and the dining room was overlit.
Excellent central location with functional bedroom, although the bedside lights were poorly positioned. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was plentiful and well prepared. Car park was a bonus and well located. Bar area was cosy and atmospheric.

United KingdomSmall table in breakfast room
The room was clean and comfortable and a nice size for two people. Would have preferred a bath and not a shower but as we only stayed one night, it didn't matter. The location was perfect for visiting the city centre and breakfast had good choices. Table rather small though but waitress kept an eye out and removed used plates etc quickly. Staff were excellent all over the hotel. Very helpful and always on hand.

United KingdomThe hotel public areas, albeit comfortable, were a little cold and uninviting. The breakfast choice needed to have more continental choice.
The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the city. Next to the cathedral and near to restaurants and shops. The staff were very helpful and informative. The breakfast choice was good, albeit it was biased to hot food. The hotel had a restaurant with a good menu choice. Plenty of car parking which included EV charging. Guests paid a reduced fee for parking.

United KingdomNothing.
The hotel is situated in the 'best' area of Norwich. The Cathedral is across the road, which is beautiful. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and varied (buffet style). The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. Great walk in shower. Parking was at the rear of the hotel (£8 per night). Plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby.

United KingdomThe need to use quite a few stairs to get to our room. Our room was qiuite small, which is understandable in an old building, but it meant that the double bed was equally small in order to fit.
The Hotel is very pretty but also an old set of buildings, which mean necessarily going up or down stairs as you move through it. Food was very good, both breakfast and the excellent dinner that we had. The location was very good, virtually next door to the cathedral! Staff were very friendly and accomodating when my wife, who has a trapped nerve in her back, was unwell and we had to leave before anticipated.
