Excellent dinner in Waltons bar, and great swimming pool facilities a few strides away.

We didn’t have a great bar meal one evening.

Great location and lovely walks along the Eden river. Really lovely room and bathroom, all refurbished recently. Staff were great, really helpful and nice breakfast.

The paintwork in the communal areas need retouching and a good clean as it is sticky to touch. Also the glass windows need a good clean.

Outside the front can do with a lick of fresh paint. The Wi-Fi is horrendous especially when it’s situated right next to the exchange. The owner needs to upgrade this. The water pressure in the shower needs updating also.

I liked the location of the hotel and the facilities that were included in the stay.

The bathrooms

The bathrooms were a bit dated and the the rooms could do with a bit of tlc especially the windows,the breakfast was lovely and all the staff we met were really nice,there was some confusion with our bill as booking.com stated that the children were included in our price but then we found out that we had to pay for cots,but not sure if that was booking.coms fault or the hotel but overall it was OK.

The Breakfast was great the tricky part was that part of it was served in the Dining room where dogs weren't allowed so I couldn't go and help myself( I couldn't have left my dog on his own) if it hadn't been for an extremely helpful member of your team who fetched toast and coffee for me I am not sure what I would have done I did feel like an outcast sat in the bar on my own with my dog!

How breakfast was served eg having to go and get hot drinks or tomato ketchup. Would have liked another cover on the bed so didn’t have to have heating on. Room number not on the door. It had a name but we were told to find 150. So we got lost walking up and down. Would have helped if reception had told us the room name.

Despite a large car park, there was nil spaces on our arrival due to patrons of the leisure club picking up children from swim sessions.

We arrived to be told that they had a wedding and would be noisy, and it was until midnight. We asked for a quiet room which was a waste of time. If we had been told we definitely would not have booked. Paid money to get no sleep.

Fitness classes started shortly before 8am on a weekend, and you can hear it loud and clear in your room. No chance of sleeping beyond that. The shower had barely any water pressure and shower head didn't hold in place. I did tell the reception staff and they took note to fix it.

Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The fitness facilities are really nice. Polite and helpful staff, especially the breakfast staff. Very good breakfast.

Spa not on first night, showers were cold in pool area. Food wasn't great.. chips undercooked .. lasagne burnt and hard .. not expected from a 4star tbh.
