An absolutely beautiful lodge a short walk from the centre of Newcastle. Facilities were fantastic and it was so warm and cosy, hence very relaxing. The mattress was amazing and we slept so well after our hike.

This is such a cosy and comfy cabin, just a few mins walk from the main street in Newcastle, it's right at the foot of the Mourne mountains, has all the facilities you will need, we cooked steak and chips one night and it had everything we need to cook dinner. Many thanks Darren and Marcella, we will be back!! xx

I don't want to say didn't like as that isn't the case. Our stay would have been almost perfect with a walk in shower but a very minor issue for our lovely weekend.

Lodge was really clean, cosy with the heat on and the kitchen and lodge accessories pretty much perfect. Nice touch to have cold water in the fridge, some jam, butter, tea/coffee for our use. Bed and sofas very comfy.

It was quiet,peaceful and relaxing.The cabin was exceptionally clean,has all the facilities you need and in a great location close to local amenities.There was sweets, crisps and milk left for us on arrival.We really enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return again in the future.We would highly recommend Donard Shadow Lodge to anyone.

Perfect cabin, everything you need 🙂 so romantic, cozy and homely, as soon as me and my partner got into cabin felt at home, the whole of the cabin and detail is beautiful already on the hunt to book again, perfect birthday weekend didn't want to leave

Nothing! All was good!

The Lodge was beautifully furnished, with every facility you would need! It was warm and cosy - without using the central heating! Five minutes drive from the towns main street, yet the stay we had was just what we needed - peace and quiet! Heaven!

Beautiful setup and in a perfect location . Very cosy and relaxing atmosphere created inside . Very clean inside, equipped with everything and the bed was so comfortable . Also the bath was incredible . I could not fault anything. If your looking for an ideal place for a getaway the Donard Shadow Lodge is the place to go!! Thank you again for making our stay so perfect.

The toilet didn't have a radiator in it. Would have liked a dressing table with mirror.

The place was beautiful and cosy. Very clean and plenty of items to cook with. Close to town. A perfect romantic getaway. The bed was so comfy and great instructions from host. Overall an amazing place and would definitely like to go again.

We enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer, it was within walking distance to Newcastle main street, the gate at top of the garden lead you straight onto the foot of the mountain! The cabin has everything you would need to make your stay perfect and the bed is the most comfortable bed iv ever slept in.

I didn't like not having any real private outdoor area - even though there was a table and 2 chairs outside it's very overlooked by the owners house.

The cabin was superb! All the facilities inside the cabin were great and super comfortable bed too
