How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

When purchasing refreshment a large measure was more than double price of single. Queried this with member of staff who was not understanding complaint. Service charge was also applied to refreshment in reception area but not in roof top bar.
Location was excellent. Breakfast good.

It was a little pricey for a room of that size ok it was in London and a weekend and by tower bridge but even so
Breakfast was in the VIP lounge but the standard breakfast room had so much more to offer so we felt a little disappointed and most of the food was just warm and starting to get over cooked. The bed in the room was really comfortable but i believe the receptionist said it was a superior king room LOL no it was just a standard room with use of the vip breakfast lounge

Downstairs bar area was drab and pretty uninviting, as its essentially the foyer as well. Needs dividing off and making more appealing. There was another 'cocktail bar' on the roof that we never got to in the 2 nights we were there, though. Maybe this was better? TV option wasn't great, as no 'news' channels. (that i could find).
All staff encountered were polite and efficient. Cooked breakfast was good, albeit not always the warmest. Fruit option didn't appear as varied for my tastes. Room was big enough, though a touch austere. Had the basic feel of a Premier-Inn about it - but without the purple! Bed was comfy. Air-con was good and easy to operate. No outside/next door noise was heard at any time. Fridge and safe were handy. Liked the £10 bar voucher if we skipped a room clean - made the drinks prices less crippling. Never problems getting a lift - if this is important to you.

Tv just had channel 4. Housekeeping didn’t come on our first day to make up our room despite a letter telling us that we could have a voucher if we chose an undisturbed stay. We had to ask to have them come along. Not sure we got the queen bed that we booked as it was small.
Location is amazing. Good breakfast, when we raised issues they were attended to quickly.

Bed wasn’t very comfy, no extra blankets in the room. Only a thin comforter on the bed. Fan would not go off in the room.

The room was small and basic. The alarm clock has been set and went off at 6am when we were hoping for a lie-in on a Saturday morning.
It was clean. It’s in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The roof-top bar has incredible views.

Not much to dislike although we only noticed afterwards we hadn’t been provided coffee/tea making in room as advertised on the booking.
Great location to Tower of London and tube. Good size room, comfortable and clean. Would’ve rated it higher however we didn’t get a chance to fully use all of the amenities within the hotel like breakfast, bar, restaurant etc.

We left towels hanging up as there is a sign saying they then won’t be changed. They were changed daily regardless. Perhaps new staff.
The staff were always helpful, professional and friendly. The rooms are kept clean and tidy although they may not get done until later in the afternoon. Breakfast is excellent, with a wide choice available and very pleasant staff ready to help.

There was a power outage for more than 5 hours and we never knew what happened.

Bathroom floor was sooo cold
Very kind and helpful staff, quiet rooms, good beds and pillows and great location. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices and lots of fresh and healthy choices. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good with tasty food.
