Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was wonderful. Homemade muesli & granola were delicious and there was a splendid array of poached fruit have with it.

Beautiful home, wonderfully decorated. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was just across the hall and exclusively for my use - including the lovely freestanding bath. Wonderful view of the rolling hills if you have a room at the back of the house. Martin and Melanie were lovely, and such great company for a chat over breakfast as I was travelling alone. So many breakfast options on offer, so delicious.

Lovely room, large, comfortable bed and great bathroom. The continental breakfast was superb, great quality and huge choice. Welcoming host and two of the sweetest, friendliest dogs you could ever meet.

The breakfast was phenomenal, and Melanie and Martin were exceptional hosts. We were a big group and a bit of a handful to host, but they were so kind and went above and beyond in all of our (many) needs and desires.

Melanie and Martin are perfect hosts, who made us feel very welcome. The house is stylish and full of personal touches and outside is a lovely space to relax after a busy day sightseeing. Breakfast is exceptional, with wonderful homemade granola and compotes, and Martin’s scrambled eggs a tour de force!

The Castle Cary area is well worth visiting and Ellesmere House is a lovely place to stay. I had a spacious, well furnished bedroom, a very comfortable bed, and a great sleep in a quiet neighbourhood. Just on the edge of town, the house is in a convenient location and street parking was no problem. Breakfast was superb, with so many home made fruit compotes, delicious granola and excellent coffee. Melanie and Martin were friendly and welcoming, having breakfast in their beautiful kitchen was like visiting old friends! I especially appreciated their recommendations concerning local restaurants, and to visit the Roman Villa at the Newt, which was outstanding. Very highly recommended and I hope to return!

The most welcoming, lovely people. The room had a lovely view and so did the the bathroom. Everything was very clean. Parking right outside. Exceptional attention to detail. The breakfast was one of the best. A huge choice of homemade compots and jams, with homemade granola and lots of different types of fresh fruit. My husband said his scrambled eggs were the best he's had. It was so relaxing, I would definitely recommend a stay here.
