The staff was not well trained, mostly students Breakfast was very poor quality Reception changed us 25£ for an early check in and 35£ for our chihuahua to stay ( we were not informed of the extra charges when we booked ) Very hard to contact reception, always forwarded to a message

The grounds were beautiful and very well attended to. The hotel was also well taken care of, there was a beautiful restaurant with well executed dishes and a bar for drinks

There are no instructions on operating the shower or radiator. Breakfast not enough staff to cope with the number of guests.. we had to wait 30 minutes for a table.

Some of the staff in the restaurant seemed confused. Tried to serve us desert before the main had come out. Wanted to take plates long before we had finished. The restaurant was lovely, was just a bit of an odd experience with the staff.

The bar staff were a little inexperienced but it was fine. Our room which was an Executive Double, was identical to our family’s other rooms but was a bit more expensive. It was fine though.

The location and grounds were a delightful surprise. The hotel itself had lovely lounge areas and bar. The breakfast was very good indeed. The room was very good. The dinner which was part of the Birthday event we were attending, was really excellent! The hotel was warm which was very important as it could feel a bit gloomy if it was too cool. The Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Great choice at breakfast. Nice views of garden. The grounds are lovely. Great view from our stable block room of the main building. It was like looking out onto a Disney fairy castle. Super friendly staff.

Internet signal could have been better in the room but it did not bother me. Windows were painted shut so the atmosphere was very dry in the room. I managed to change rooms to get some fresh air and a bit of humidity and Housekeeping were very helpful.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Room service breakfast was excellent and still warm when it arrived. Restaurant was also excellent with very polite servers and you do not feel rushed.

Stayed in room 67 in the old stable block. The carpet is very soiled, looks like water damage and either needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced. The lighting from the main building ( Reception ) to the stable block needs to be improved as its dangerous to walk in the dark.

Amazing luxury hotel set in beautiful landscaped grounds. Very old building steeped in history including Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Stayed in the old stables which are modern rooms with everything you could want. Lovely restaurant set inside a conservatory and wonderful bar, albeit a bit small with limited seating areas.

Very nice and accommodating staff especially the manager. We were pleasantly surprised with the champers and cake they did for our honeymoon 🥰 so sweet! 10/10 would recommend visiting. Thank you x

Unfortunately our room was a bit cold even with the heating on. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and went to the buffet a couple of times but our plates didn't get cleared away.

We absolutely loved the bar and the barman was very friendly. Our room was in the stable, it was big and comfy with a huge shower and very clean. Breakfast options were very good. The hotel was absolutely beautiful.

Some rooms are in a very large converted stable block, which is accessible only via an unsheltered walkway.

The building and grounds are spectacular. The public spaces are marked by very high ceilings and the spaces are sensitively restored to the original mock Tudor ambience with very comfortable seating throughout.
