Went for a golfing weekend, met our needs, central enough. Breakfast great, all you needed to set up for a day golfing. Host where fantastic, very helpful.

Room was boiling in the evening due to heat wave.

The breakfast was good . Something on the menu to suit everyone’s taste. Super efficient service from owner. Nothing was a problem and always willing to help us. B and B was immaculate.

We loved everything about the property. Although we can not comment on other rooms, ours was pristine. Make sure you try their home made Berry Compote if you have breakfast there, it is amazing. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Fair Rigg is 10 minutes walk away from Bowness-on-Windermere, with lovely views. Richard and Christine make you feel very welcome and excellent hosts.

The breakfast was lovely with lots of choices, from full English to cereals and toast, poached egg with fresh salmon, fruit juice, tea and coffee, I had the porridge with honey and cream which was delicious. Our bedroom was overlooking the mountains and lake, very scenic and peaceful with only the sheep in the field opposite for company. Our room had on-suit bath and shower facilities, and it had everything we needed provided, fresh towels, toiletries, hairdryer, kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits, fresh water and glasses. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra blankets if needed, which we didn’t as the weather was lovely at the end of May! We had room no 1 on the first floor. Christine and Richard our hosts were lovely very friendly and welcoming, full of useful knowledge of the area and advice for our weekend stay which we were very grateful for as we had not been to the Lake District prior to this trip, but will definitely be going back! It was delightful, we thoroughly enjoyed every single minute and didn’t want to go home. Thank you Christine and Richard for your hospitality:)

did mention to Christine during check out, the blinds of the toilet in one of our room wasn’t working ( may be it was me being very gentle with it) some decors could be updated, not much fuss though

Pre arrival communication from Richard was great. prompt replies to all messages and thank you for accommodating requests for slightly late check out. Good location- 10 minutes walk from Windermere piers and restaurants ( though bit tricky to walk back in dark as a small stretch of the road has no walking pavement), quiet location ( though many reviewers have mentioned about noise from the roads, we were lucky not to be bothered by much noise) Rooms were decent size with with nice comfortable bed, good view of lakes and mountains Good home cooked breakfast with little touch of old traditional English styles. Overall lovely stay. Thank you

What an amazing place! You must come and stay here, if you can get booked in. The owners have gone out of their way to make the whole experience memorable. Not only are the rooms immaculate, but they are very well priced and come with breakfast too. Nothing was too much and they catered for our early check in, minor dietary requirements but were always on hand to offer advice/guidance for the local area. The view from the front bedrooms is stunning and overlook the lake. It’s a small walk into town via a pathway and yes, there is a small (about 5m) that isn’t paved but you can take a short cut down Smithy road which is unlit (bring a head torch!) but this allows for some amazing views of the starry skies if you are lucky enough to get the weather. We will absolutely be returning without question and so thank you to the hosts! T & E

It was just a little out the way very dark Road to walk down no lighting properly fine in the summer nights .

Bathroom mirror was a bit high on the wall for me to see properly.

Large comfortable bedroom, clean bathroom with walk in shower. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities, milk was replenished without asking.

Nothing! Everything was just perfect, we felt spoilt! The breakfast was delicious, the menu was varied and the food was perfectly cooked.

Richard and Christine were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We were really welcomed into their house and every possible effort was made to help us feel pampered and comfortable.
