Minor point and my error - when booking, I saw private bathroom but hadn't realised this was separate from the main room. No worries though as the stunning surroundings made up for this.

Stunning building with so much history - would have loved to known more about the houses past. Beautiful room and the bed was very comfy. In the morning, the sun was pitching in on the sofa in the corner so we sat and enjoyed this for a short period of time before checking out. Breakfast was perfect as was our host. Wish we'd remembered to walk around the gardens in the morning.

That the bathroom was not in the room but in the corridor, however this is understandable for such an old house.

The whole experience was wonderful. We have stayed many times in llantwit major. But have never managed to get in at the great house. But yippee we did this time. And wow!!!Would be so disappointed if had to stay anywhere else now. Omg Paula is just the loveliest host EVER. Nothing is too much trouble. The building is just so fab!!! Thank you Paula Xxx

There was nothing not to like, perhaps the following remarks would apply: Very limited parking [but we did have space for our car] Not a great deal of water pressure in the shower, however it was still adequate.

Very welcoming and friendly hostess. Building with plenty of character, and a bedroom of very good size, with a comfortable bed. I am not very keen on baths in bedrooms but this one was set up nicely. Shower in the joining room was pleasant too, Very good breakfast in a cosy-looking wood pannelled room; immaculate linen on the table. I liked the architectural features of the building. I am short and i dont have to navigate lower beams or doors but much taller guests might have to remain aware whilst apprising the lovely decor. Overall an excellent stay.

Honestly everything. It was perfect in every way. Great communication, host is wonderful, she really does excelling her role. Made us both so welcome. The room is beautiful, the photos are correct. Breakfast, home cooked to perfection. Warm, welcoming and special. Bed super comfy, ensure you have time to spend in the room. We had been on a Welsh costal path walk and then had a relaxing evening in the room, definitely more of a suite.

The sound isolation is of an old building, but it kinda adds to the vibe of the place.

Really an experience. Paula is an amazing host taking really good care of you. House and rooms with a cinematographic quality. Very spacious room with a lot of little charming nooks. Nice bathtub. Speedy wifi. And the breakfast (in front of a fireplace) to die for. Pity we had to rush to catch a plane.

Such a beautiful building, with an amazing character and history. Paula was a supreme host, with a fabulous personality. The coincidences were amazing, with a Leicestershire connection. Breakfast was perfection. Rachel and I loved the area and it was ideal for exploring. Llantwit has so much historical significance.

We did originally ask for a twin room. And it was a double plus sofa bed. But the sofa bed was very comfortable so not a problem.

Large bedroom, nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Quirky old house with lots of interesting features. Paula was lovely and very welcoming. She even took us to our restaurant for our evening meal as it was raining. Location close to town.

Absolutely nothing!

Wonderful breakfast didn't need to eat for a week afterwards! The room was huge and the bed extremely comfortable with lovely bedding. The property is a magnificent listed building with fabulous Welsh oak paneling and lovely antique furniture throughout. It was like staying in a miniature stately home. We also saw absolutely fabulous looking afternoon tea being served on beautiful antique china but I think you have to book separately for that.

The only fly in the ointment is a potential lack of parking.

Everything about the stay was perfect. The property evoked images of an Historical Britain, the type where if the walls could talk situation. The welcome was warm, the breakfast was delicious and ample and the acceptance of the young children gave a real family feel to my stay. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
