Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. The bathroom is on the smaller side so not much manoeuvring room but does have everything you need.
The cottage was well equipped and was very cosy. Despite the small size, the master bedroom, living area, and kitchen area feel spacious, and the layout works well. Brilliant WiFi signal and lovely outdoor space too.

United KingdomIt's an old building presumably listed so floors uneven and very creaky. Stairs would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Very cosy and suited our needs well.

United KingdomThe cottage stairs were steep, as we knew already. A coffee machine would be nice in the kitchen.
A warm welcome from Kath awaited us & milk bread & other goodies appreciated. The location on the village green was idealic with pub at far end. The cottage was cosy and warm with the bonus of log burner in the lounge. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. We had breakfast ( coffee & croissants) at the cafe in the Post Office a few steps away. The countryside with Evenly wood & canals to walk make us want to return.

United KingdomWhat a delightful little cottage, it had everything we needed. It was so nice to have goodies in the fridge to tide us over until we had time to go to the shops. The little coffee shop two doors down was brilliant and so was the Red Lion pub across the green. The people in Evenley were very friendly.

United KingdomNothing I didn't like.
The host was very welcoming. The cottage was more than expected. Everything you need was provided. A welcome pack of bread, butter, tea coffee, sugar etc. were in the kitchen. It was great to be able to have a drink and snack/quick breakfast. I've not had that before at other places. The property is a very pretty typical cottage with a feature low beamed ceiling to the lounge. A truly great stay

United KingdomNot much
We spent a very comfortable few days here in this lovely location, two doors from the village shop and post office and across the green from the Red Lion pub and Restaurant. Our host had left a few essentials to get us going: bread, milk, tea, coffee, orange juice, a few biscuits and jam. Also provided were soap, dishwasher tabs and salt and pepper. In short, all the little essentials to start off without having to shop for silly quantities of each to get going. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms clean, and the kitchen was very well provided for with crockery, cutlery, glasses and implements.

United Kingdomeverything superb, bathroom is a bit on the small side i suspect to accomodate the 2nd bedroom, I normally like a bath but the the layout does not allow for this but I knew this before booking due to all the exceptional reviews I had read. While the stairs are steep they are managable a wonderful place to stay with excellent service and facilities.
location and communication and service exceptional. The whole building was exceptionally clean and comfertable. The bed was very comfertable and linens and funishings of very good quality. There is a, large kitchen with everything you need and more with a little space outside to sit and reflect, Provisions provided and apprecaited on arrival, bread, butter, tea, milk etc. Windows open to allow ventilation, very peaceful and quite location with a little post office and coffee shop next door. Plenty of space to park outside the property. Good wifi and TV reception. Good pillows always take my own but the ones here were very good. Friendly and helpful locals who say good day with a smile. Comfertable two seater sofa and very comfey leather arm chair. Very very happy with the experience. Well done.
