How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was nothing not to like
Our choice of breakfast & time we wanted to eat breakfast was ordered the night before . Great idea. Both mornings breakfast was cook very well Presentation was good. Portion size very good. If you go hungry it's your own fault . Good choice of cereals. Yoghurts Toast All Staff was friendly, chatty, and very helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them. Guest house very clean and tidy Lovely 1 off pieces of art work scattered around made by owner. All in all a great place we will revisit again Our room was goood had everything we needed. It is a little on the small size but we did know this when we booked it. Thank you for a lovely stay

Lovely double room but a bit small. For the price we payed fantastic value for money, so not really a negative.
Fantastic stay at the Kelston guest house. I thought the option of different check in times was a nice touch. The host was very welcoming and evening assisted us with our luggage. Great value for money with breakfast including in the price (£85) per night. Would definitely stay here again A *****

No parking but we called the guest house and they were able to supply us free of charge with a parking permit in a near by car park
Location good very clean and decorated quirky which I like . The owners were very attentive and knowledgeable around the area. The breakfast was superb 👍

Nothing not to like, well worth a visit.
The hosts were really down to earth and knowledgeable about the area. The room was really comfy and spacious. Close enough to the sea front and far enough away for peace and quiet at night. Had a lovely stay. Lovely chats at breakfast about what to do for the day. Would definitely stay again, thanks.

There isn’t any common area to have zoom meetings or spend extra time after checkout at 10:00am.

We had a fantastic time in this lovely and cosy hotel. We received a big warm welcome, and the lady was very friendly and nice. We only stayed for one night but we will definitely book again next time we will be in Weymouth. The breakfast was very good and rich of choice.

Water pressure to shower was low and took a long time to run hot.

Absolutely no negative. The owners were super helpful, really friendly and the room was excellent for our trip. Close to town and beach.
Exceptional communication from the start. Really lovely owners who helped a lot with activities booked for our stay. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing addition and the room was really nice. Warm room as bad weather for our stay, super comfy beds. All amenities you'd expect and super clean.

Parking is an issue but hosts do as much as they can to secure permits and guide you. Don’t think there is an easy solution.
Clean and comfortable with welcoming hosts. Plenty of choice for breakfast, which was delicious. Interesting art dotted around.
