How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Not in the best location in Torquay which was very hilly and and the area was a bit worn down.
Very friendly owner who went out of his way to help you to park in a very tricky parking area. All the staff were also very friendly and the cooked breakfast was excellent.

Would recommend a call to the hotel prior to booking to ensure car park able to accommodate size of car. Be aware hotel situated on busy crossroads. Unable to sleep with windows open before buying ear plugs due to noise from road.
Beach and town easy to walk to.

Russell greeted us on arrival, and helped us park our car safely. He gave us a tour of the b&b and explained everything clearly. Our room was fantastic, good WiFi and even better we had Netflix on our TV! Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and good quality food! We even watched the football in the lounge and had drinks from the on site bar! 10/10 would recommend to others. Thank you Russel and family for our stay here.

We stayed for a week and realised what an absolute gem this hotel is. From Rasul meeting and greeting us when we arrived in the car park, nothing was too much for him. Our room had a lovely comfy bed, exceptionally clean shower and everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and served by family. The hotel is lovely, free parking a bonus, at the top of a hill but one road leads to the promenade and the other via the town. Highly recommended and would define stay here again 😃

The location is at the top of a hill but plenty of options if you don’t want to walk
The owner and his family are lovely. Really helpful. The car park is a bit of a mare but Russell is on hand to assist. Rooms are lovely, ours was refurbished and bed was really comfortable. Breakfast is really good too. Will definitely return.

Quite a long walk down to the Marina, restaurants etc, uphill on the way back
breakfast was very good, toast would have been warmer if delivered to the table when the cooked food arrived.

The only minor niggle was that they did not want to be paid by MasterCard as it would cost them money even though they advertised they took MasterCard!
Location was ideal, Very Clean, Breakfast great. Facilities good. Parking good if a little tight.

Polite hosts who are very helpful and gave helpful advise regarding the free parking. You can tell they are very proud of there B&B its kept exceptionally clean and covid secure. Sorry we didn't see Razul before we left to say thank you as he was busy with breakfast, which was also great with very polite servers.

The car parking is not the best . The walk up the hill from the beach tests your calves.
Friendly staff, clean room and restaurant area. Breakfast was to a good standard and quick service. Covid awareness was implemented.

Only thing would be it was quite noisy with the windows open due to being on a main road.
Close to the beach, town centre & harbour. Very handy to know there was a bus stop very close by! Splitting the breakfast times was a great solution with COVID. Hosts couldn’t do enough for us!

Noise as the venue is on the main road, so can be a bit distracting if you're a light sleeper, but we both had a fantastic break in spite of the occasional car noise!
The hosts were excellent, couldn't have done more to help. Really perfect spot for walking down to the beachfront, parking on site was really useful, and the room size and comfort exceeded expectations for a bed & breakfast.

Car park was quite narrow spaced and not too big but at least happy that was any and free at that property 🙂
