The decor leaves a lot to be desired. It was like going back 30 years. Single glazed windows that had condensation on the inside in the morning. Wafer thin walls meant you could hear what was happening in the next room. The hotel need a good renovation.

    The location wad good.

Needs attention to outside, ie painting of window frames and inside the hotel is very dark. and old fashioned, but presume visitors from overseas (which there were many) like it. Bar prices, WOW £17.60 one bottle of beer (no beer on draught) and a glass of wine!!!

The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in Drumnadrochit. The lady on reception and the one on breakfast duty was very pleasant but others not so much.

We had 3 rooms two were next to each other and the third the other end of the building. My nephew on entering his room found vomit all over the bathroom floor and toilet and discovered the barman had felt unwell so used a guest bathroom to be sick in. The rooms in general needed dusting. The bar/ restaurant was closed at 9pm on a Saturday night. Had to call a number to get room key as no one on duty.

Location was excellent and staff were reasonably responsive

It was a little dark inside. Making it light and airy would be a wonderful improvement.

The bed was comfy and smelled heavenly. Tasty, filling breakfast with many options. Friendly, personable staff.

The breakfast was buffet style. Not a good variety. All they offered was cold easy over fried eggs. I asked 4 times if I could get scrambled eggs. The cook finally brought the eggs to me after we were all done with eating breakfast. It was obvious the lodge is used to catering to large bus groups and not individual guests. We were just two travelers by car. The room had hard beds and the pillows were flattened and hard. The room smelled of mold. When I returned home the pajamas that I had slept in while there smelled moldy. Glad I had placed them in a plastic bag while in my suitcase.

It was convient to our travels. Nice fireplace in the bar/lounge.

I didn't like the damp smell, the toilet door in the room is so hard to close and open, and the toilet seat was rubbish, it kept on moving.

The thought of living in a historical place feels great. The breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast taste good.

See above Prices at the bar were very expensive and as no other bars in the area were open they kind of got you.

Hotel has so much character, but is a little dated in parts and an overwhelming smell if damp when we first went in. Although the room was clean it was dated. We didn't sleep too well as the bed creaked when either of us moved.

No internet/WiFi in the bedrooms, only in some of the public areas. They took my restaurant booking for 19:30 then called me later in the day to tell me they could not honour it as they had a large group in for dinner. The offered a much earlier time instead but we were too far away to make the new time so had to queue for half an hour outside a pub in Fort William to get something to eat. Very disappointing. Could not book for the following evening wither as the same issue, a large group in so only early tables available. When on holiday travelling around Scotland it is difficult to make it back in time for early reservations.

    Great location, friendly staff

The bed was pretty uncomfortable with stains on the mattress protector and I could hear every step taken in the room upstairs. The room looked pretty run down but a lick of paint should help that. Maybe thicker carpets to help footstep noises? Also the mirror looked pretty dirty, wasn't sure if they had tried to clean it or if it's just stained somehow.

Staff were very nice and the hotel is in a nice area where everything is pretty easy to reach by car. There is some charm to main building.

The room smelt musty as if it hadn’t been used in a while. I couldn’t use the shower as I had to bend down to use it.

Breakfast was the best thing about the stay.
