The bed was a tiny bit too short, me legs were sticking out at 183cm

The hostel itself is beautiful, very nicely decorated, with loads of information scattered all over the main room. The bunk bed area is nice and tidy. Toilets are clean and decent. There is a terrace with a beautiful view and plenty of parking. A really good base for any trips in Snowdonia. Sonni was very helpful and replied to my queries instantly.

I couldnt fault this place!

The whole place was spotless and clean. Bed was very comfortable and the curtain for privacy was the icing on the cake. It made going to sleep so much more relaxing and safe! Staff was very accommodating, I had to leave before breakfast so they left me some breakfast to take away with me which was perfect! Lockers are provided for your personal belongings which you want to keep safe! The hostel was lovely and warm. Living room and kitchen was inviting and had everything you could possibly need! Every type of drink was provided which I thought was a very nice touch, I can't drink tea or coffee in the evening so to find alternatives was a total bonus! I highly recommend this place to anyone that visits the area! As a hiker it is perfectly located very close to many of the mountains. I definitely will be staying here again! Best hostel I have stayed in so far! Thank you for making my stay so comfortable!

Nothing!

Sonni and Simon are the most amazing, gracious hosts. They answered every question we had about nearby hikes and the home cooked breakfast every morning was so delicious!! Coming home after a hike to a delicious home cooked meal was the best feeling. One night when the weather was nice Simon even went out of his way to bring our dinner down to where we were sitting watching the sunset so we could enjoy an outdoor feast 😄 The hostel has such a homely feeling where you get to know everyone. I would recommend it to every person wanting to explore Snowdonia!

One tiny thing - a light above Bunk 5 which flashed in the morning and kept me awake.

Excellent value for money and perfect location if you’re looking to explore the nearby Dinorwic Quarry. This was my first time at a hostel/shared dorm and I was pleasantly surprised. The host Sonni was very welcoming and helpful

Everything! Lodge Dinorwig was the gift which kept on giving! Didn't feel like a hostel in the slightest. Superb value for money! Fresh coffee house style coffee, tea, and a full English breakfast to suit different preferences (meat/veg/vegan), using good quality ingredients with fresh juice and choice of cereals all included in the price! Was the perfect start to my mountaineering day! Evening meals and no plastic lunches available (extra). Stylishly decorated with several displays which piqued my creative brain. Several useful signs around, with a weather report for the next day (so helpful). Amazing artwork displayed and for sale. Beds had their own privacy curtain which I loved! Bathroom was spotless and clean. Lots of comfy seating, games, books and plant life. Super clean & warm & modern. Sonni & Simon were the perfect hosts - so friendly, warm & inviting! The views from the windows in the communal area were just spectacular I was in awe, due to the height and positioning of the Lodge, you can look directly at Mount Snowdon and it's siblings! Due to the change in weather, I climbed Elidir Fawr (recommended by Sonni). It was an incredible climb with breathtaking panoramic views of Anglesey and being able to look right at Mount Snowdon et. al. I did it in 3.5 hours (getting up & down). I couldn't love this place any more if I tried. Kudos to Simon & Sonni, they really do set the bar high for hostel hosts, and I'm willing to bet Lodge Dunnerwig is thee best in the area. Incredible service both! I'll be back! I wanted to move in! Ha! So cozy. Thank you both SO MUCH. I will treasure your warm welcome, care & attention forever. It really did put the icing on my first experience in the area! First impressions all round were second to none. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your service is special in more ways than one.

I don't think that I can immediately think of anything that I would recommend for serious change or improvement.

A group for friends travelling to North Wales for the adventure sports and relaxation. A beautiful dormitory, which was spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming. A large communal area for relaxation and chatting. I would well recommend this site and although didn't want to stay initially on the north side of Padarn it did not dismiss a lovely experience. Just the shower, you have to constantly push the button for water to run.

The owners are very welcoming, attentive and extremely helpful, superb location, and the most important - comfortable beds with some personal space. Also the dining room is sooo cozy and there’s lots of table games and books and maps. It’s all in the details, you can see how properly everything was done.

Clean, moder, nicely decorated, very comfy spacious relax area. Fully equipped and wide variety of drinks. Good choise of breakfast with freshly made coffie. Great showers. Nice, comfy beds, lights and curtains for privacy. Locking for valuable staff etc. All excellent.

The dinner was delicious both evenings especially the curry . Owners super friendly and welcoming ! The view of the lake, Llanberis and the hills around Snowden is beautiful. The other guests were super friendly and travelled onwards with me . I was recommended a great waterfall hike , the Watkin Walk it is amazing ! Thanks for making my holiday stay so special . I loved the slate quarry and the copper mine !
