Unfortunately the ensuite bathroom was on the smaller side and it was very uncomfortable trying to use the toilet with no leg space. Also, the lights were energy savers so it would go off if you were still for too long. Made for an odd experience using the toilet and shower.

The staff were very friendly and it was easy to find your way around the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good size.

Sorry i did not venture from my room while i was there due to doing paperwork so I can not comment on anything else other than what has already been mentioned.

I found the room lacked supply and extract and the room could get quite warm and stuffy with no means of manipulating the ventilation. In regards to the bed i can not tell as i do not sleep very well most of the time where ever i sleep.

It is just a shame that a breakfast isn't available.

Great rooms in a good pub/hotel. Very clean and comfortable beds and good value too. The staff were excellent and the pub was lively. The pies are highly recommended. Just a 15 minute walk to the station and so easy to get to Birmingham.

Did get quite noisy in bedroom. En-suite was quite small. Got smells of the kitchen in the restaurant.

Quaint, living over a pub/restaurant. Historic building close to Black Country Museum. Great food and ales.

The music and singing (I think from the Kitchen as we were in room 10) was very loud and woke us up at 8am. We were hoping for a lie in being away from home for the night :(

The location was perfect for visiting friends.

Sadly a couple of things let it down- the bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied, the curtain in the bedroom had come off the rail and there were tea/coffee marks on the paintwork by the window. A little more care with the cleaning would make a huge difference. Because the staff were so friendly and the room was very comfortable, I wouldn't let these things put me off staying again, but I hope they have been rectified.

A very friendly welcome. The room was big as was the very comfortable bed. A large clean en suite.

Temperature of shower could not be adjusted in room (7) - boiling hot.

I was in room (7) which was fine with en-suite except that the shower temperature could not be adjusted and was boiling hot. I made several attempts to find the correct temperature but there must have been a fault or problem with the plumbing. Instead I used the communal shower so no point paying for a private room with en-suite.

Staff could have been a bit friendlier but it is a very busy restaurant therefore we can make allowances.

This was the 2nd time we had stayed at Mad O'Rourke's as we came back to visit the Black Country Living Museum again with members of our family. The ensuite rooms are lovely.

Food wasn't great, wasn't hot enough for 2 of us, no sauce in the chicken pie, no sauces offered for the chips etc. When I tried to get the servers attention, a woman behind the bar looked at me and rolled her eyes, so I gave up. The shower in the room was tiny, and the water was way too hot, couldn't get it on cool. Should have gone for shared bathroom as they looked spacious and clean. No chairs in the room, could easily fit two in the room we had.

Claire behind the bar was great, as was the lady who served our food. Drinks were reasonably priced. Nice and clean.

En-suite facility too tight. Creaky floor boards and can be quite noisy outside. Stairs quite steep and winding. No breakfasts available.

A pity that they don't do breakfast.

The Coronation special pie - mutton, wild mushrooms and truffles was the best pie I have ever tasted. My daughter loved the ribs, and those battered chips!. Great Lumphammer beer too. The service team are so friendly

Unfortunately on my last night got woken up with guests slamming doors, running in and out of others rooms and blaring music. From 11pm until 2am & again at 5.30am. I suddenly realised there is no way to contact any staff during the night with problems. Or if there is. There is certainly nothing around telling how to.

Stayed here a few times now and the staff, room, cleanliness are very good.

TV could be newer / bigger in the room.

I was part of a group booked for dinner. We were seated with plenty of space. Service was excellent. Food and drink as always was superb. My room (1) was just as I hoped. Was clean and got a good night's sleep. This room did not have ensuite, but use of shared facilities. It was a modern facility and could not fault it - pleasantly surprised. Excellent value and so pleased I can fall into bed rather than get a taxi to hotels elsewhere!
