Shame our room was a bit dated. It really needs freshened up. Very little pressure for the shower. Glad I didn’t have to wash my hair or I would have struggled to rinse it. Despite of that we won’t hesitate to come back on our way back to the North.

Close to the motorway, but quiet. Lovely environment and architecture features. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfy bed. Excellent breakfast. Parking on site. Oh, and a stone away from Madingley, The Three horseshoes restaurant, is really worth a visit.

Draughty through the windows. Not particularly clean, layer of dust covering surfaces, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, and old tea stains on the bedside tables. Ideally, checkout would be up to 12 pm in line with most hotels. Very poor sound proofing, could hear conversations through the door and walls

Beautiful setting, stunning building steeped in history.

Shower was clean but very old. Black mildew and old fittings. Very overdue for a re-fit. Carpet was clean but threadbare in corner by window.

Lovely single room, clean and warm with a comfy bed.

The room was a little sparse especially my one, more student accommodation than boutique hotel but it was clean and comfortable and did the job, my colleagues room was better, also it was very cold but there was a room heater in the wardrobe so it heated up quickly.

The location was great and there is a really good gastro pub round the corner, The breakfast was also really good, much better than holiday inn e.t.c the best pain au chocolate I'd had in a very long time.

Leaving. There's nothing not to like about Madingley Hall.

Stunning setting! The grounds and the building are just perfect. Always feels such a treat to stay. The buffet breakfast is a winner.

The evening meal- fish and chips - was disappointing as the excellent chips and fish were just luke warm. The mushy peas were too cold too. However the meal was replaced when the problem was pointed out. The plates at breakfast for the cooked meal were not warmed. The shower curtain in Room 25 was just balanced on the tiles. It had obviously fallen a few times

Excellent breakfast and location . The bed was very comfortable. The dining room had great character and the grounds were delightful.

The bed had sheets but no blankets. Fortunately, as the weather was reasonably warm, this was not too much of a problem.

Madingley Hall is an imposing building in a beautiful setting, yet nevertheless manages to offer comfort and tranquility.

Parts of the cooked breakfast at 8.30 had been lying for much too long. Some items, like scrambled eggs and fried eggs, need to be cooked in small batches or they quickly become inedible.

Bathroom water was flowing very little so it was hard to take shower. The hotel is so far from city centre and hard to reach public transportation.

Could certainly do with a proper clean and a coat of paint as a little tired. Quite noisy so many people going to and fro. Breakfast disappointing, no coffee available and a request for boiled eggs was met with a flat no, we do not do special requests. Receptionist in the morning not very helpful.

Stunning building and grounds with the opportunity to have a walk and explore. Comfortable room offering a good night's sleep.

The rooms are quite old and plain, but we knew that beforehand.

Brilliant historical building and grounds to explore. Breakfast was in the oldest part of Maddingley Hall and had enough variety for us. The grounds were great to roam around as were the other rooms which made up the Hall. Staff were fabulous and parking included. The local American WW2 cemetery and museum was worth a visit too. The location gave us easy access to Cambridge via the local Park and Ride
