Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was very hard to find. We had to call owner re location & WIFI code. Blinds downstairs stopped light and were difficult to ‘roll’ up! Cheap! Only percolated coffee supplied. Sink too small in bathroom. There is room for a larger one. Chair cover was ripped.
It was quaint and nice for a short stay. Clean.

United KingdomThe bedrooms are really small, cannot walk around the beds. Cannot get in and out of the beds without climbing over the middle of the bed. Elderly would not be able to manage. Its a shame, because if the property had been renovated as open plan upstairs, this would have made a good sized comfortable double bedroom. No basic provisions - would have been nice to have milk for tea/coffee that was provided and real olive oil for cooking. We feel it would be a proper squeeze for four people.
Within 10 minute walking distance of Harrogate centre. Cosy open plan lounge with log burner - you have to bring your own logs, luckily we have a log burner at home. Hardware stores in Harrogate with logs. Well equipped kitchen, with cooker/microwave, hob, dishwasher and washing machine. The bath is small (not full size). I did not find this a problem, although a larger/not as able person would find it a problem. Found the property ok from the instructions. Parking on the road, the property is located down the side road. This property could be a real gem if made into a one bedroomed holiday let.

United Kingdomnot every visitor will use Google maps ( we were fine ) so when directions are sent to include house number and that the property is up a side street with the house number . Can also see that parking could be a pain at times . The swing chair in the room has rips in it and this spoils the look of it when every where else looks pretty . would be nice if cloths were included to wipe down kitchen top . also a fire lighter for the log burner ( maybe offer option to pay additional for logs ) we have log burner at home so wasn’t an issue for us . It would also be a good idea to put a decent door mat in for visitors and save the floors . larger thicker bathroom towels would have been nicer .
it was lovely and clean and had a washer dishwasher hob we only had the one night so didn’t need but if you stayed longer would be good . Great to have a log burner . 2 small bedrooms were comfortable. The owner did provide small jars tea coffee etc . small bath towels . it also had central heating . Soap etc was provided in the bathroom which was nice . overall a very nice stay and would recommend very good value .

United KingdomStayed here with 2 female friends. Perfect location for the town centre. Very clean, and all the facilities you need for an overnight stay. Easy access and free parking on the streets nearby, which is a big bonus in Harrogate. We would stay again.

United KingdomThe bedrooms where small and no where to put suitcase in the smaller room. The bed in the bigger room headboard was broke. The shower was hot but again due to the size the curtain stuck to you. The accommodation doesn't suit a larger person.
Good Communication and ease to get in to the property, reasonably clean

LithuaniaPictures of the apartment do not represent the apartment correctly. The bath tube is tiny. The fireplace was not available to use. Cleanliness was an issue. Clutter in kitchen cupboards should be looked at.
Enough space for 3 people. Good kitchen equipment.Easy check in and check out. Helpful staff

United KingdomOnly a minor thing but would have been good to have 4 pillows on the doubles beds instead of just 2. I always think it’s a nice touch and doesn’t take much effort. Everything else was great!
It was a great location and had everything we needed for our stay and the TV was great as you could watch Netflix etc. on it. It’s very small but I liked that as it made it cosy. Finding/accessing the property was super easy and there was plenty on street parking.

United KingdomCould do with a door mat to wipe feet when coming indoors. It was raining for us so ended up with wet shoes in the doorway.
Had a lovely overnight stay here whilst attending the Yorkshire show. It’s ideally located for visiting Harrogate. Had everything we needed and was very comfortable.

The downstairs was good the bedrooms were very small As we were three elderly ladies it was very difficult for us manage to get In and out of bed so I spent 2 nights on a very small sofa it would also benefit from a microwave.
