Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing .. it’s a getaway, a paradise, a place to truly unwind
Tranquility, peace and the beautiful countryside. The only thing to do is kick back and RELAX. The best bit is snuggling up in the wonderfully comfortable bed, listing to the log fire burning, evening birdsong and the gentle whinny from one of the horses … paradise

United KingdomI liked everything but if you don’t like having to trek over a field to get there and to get to the toilet and the kitchen.. don’t go. It is just a shepherds but in the corner of a field with a bed and a chair… it’s fantastic.. you can’t drive over the field so expect a short walk .. but it’s worth it!
A little bolt hole to rest and recharge the batteries.

United KingdomWe loved it all!
We had an extremely peaceful and relaxing stay, the hut was comfortable, added with the log burner giving us all the warmth we needed for us and our puppy. The puppy had a whole gated field to run around in which she very much enjoyed. Being able to use private kitchen and bathroom not to far away from the hut, wasn’t a problem for us at all. We were aware the huts were located a little away. If you are looking for a tranquil stay and a place to disconnect, this is the place. The host was extremely gracious and could not have done enough to make it an enjoyable experience and would absolutely come back.

United KingdomNothing! But be prepared for a little walk to the hut and the bathroom and take boots or wellies if the ground is soft.
Peaceful and quirky on a working farm with all the animals. Our dog was allowed to run around & she really enjoyed the experience! The owner was very friendly and left us a lovely homemade cake & the breakfast was plentiful.

United KingdomLovely welcome from the host, including a fresh cake as well as the breakfast included. They lit a candle on the table outside our hut and put the fairy lights on ready. Perfect, quiet getaway and could see the stars in the sky. We are looking forward to planning another stay here.

United KingdomIt would be nice to have a slightly bigger / more comfortable 2 seater sofa in the hut.
We had a perfect one night stay in Maud's cabin which was a great experience - so peaceful under starlit skies. Great facilities, lovely host and a warm welcome (with cake and food for breakfast included). Comfy bed and bedding. Would love to return :)

United KingdomThe kitchen could have done with a little bit of a clean, but for us, the weekend was just fabulous so we didn't care!
The location is beautiful and peaceful, offering privacy for guests. It is, conveniently located for many local attractions . The host provided clear directions for our arrival and was very welcoming and friendly, providing a beautiful cake (which was delicious) as well as milk, bread, eggs and bacon. The breakfast was lovely and we had a great night's sleep on a very comfortable bed, while the hut itself was spotless and very, very sweet. The lack of electricity in the hut would encourage anyone to slow down and relax, so this was a plus for us, while the stable kitchen and bathroom set-up was totally unique, providing everything you would need. Bear in mind that it is a stable though, so it is not 5* luxury.

United KingdomThe property surrounding the shepherds hut is beautiful and well maintained. The shepherds hut itself is so charming and the bed is super comfortable. It so peaceful and seeing the stars out in all their glory was amazing. Having a secure fence around the shepherds hut was a bonus as it meant we could let our dog off lead without worrying and she had plenty space to run around. We loved our stay and will definitely be back in the future.

This was an amazing different experience. It was like living 200 years ago when there was no electricity! The hut is located in the corner of a large field. The place is super quiet and pristine. The stars were so breathtaking the night we stayed. Diana and David were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom and kitchen were a little far away but manageable. The shower was very nice.

United KingdomNot a dislike, just remember this is a working farm.
We absolutely loved everything, there was nothing not to like, we had our own bathroom that was separate from the bathroom for the other hut. Items were provided to be able to cook our own breakfast. The hut was just perfect with its little log burner which provided so much heat and the bed was super comfy. Diana could not have been more helpful, what a lovely woman she is. Would definitely recommend 😊
