As usual at Otter Cottage a "home from home" experience. Clean, tidy, great facilities and excellent support, if needed, from the host/owner. Location is beautiful and a very nice stroll along the canal into central Inverness. 5 star all the way.

The bed was rather uncomfortable, if you suffer in anyway with a bad back it’s far from ideal. The hot water was hit and miss, sometimes it was too hot and sometimes there was none. A shame on both counts as the cottage was exceptional and would have been 10/10 if not for those two things.

The location was excellent, close to Inverness and everything it has to offer, and overlooking Caledonian Canal, couldn’t have been better. The owner left a breakfast pack a very nice touch. The cottage was very nearly exceptional.

The cottage was wonderful! It was beautifully decorated, clean and included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I appreciated that there were instructions available for how to use all of the appliances (being from another country, not all appliances work the same as what we are used to, so instruction manuals were very helpful). The view is spectacular and the location was great - close enough to be convenient to Inverness, but in a peaceful area.

The cottage was very well presented and clean and the views were brilliant. Our dog loved the water being right outside the door, it's quite popular with locals walking their dogs so she also loved playing with other dogs out there. She'd also love to sit and people watch out of the window. It was our first time in Inverness and will definitely be back as it was a lovely break away and the cottage is gorgeous. There is a train line behind the cottage but you don't even notice it's there, the trains are very few and far between and you hear none overnight.

A few of the ‘supplies’ had run out eg. Salt & pepper, dish washer tablets. And the boiler tripped out on 2 occasions and had to be reset by self. All very minor issues though!

The location was superb with beautiful views over the canal and sea. Lovely walks from the house along the canal and nature reserve.

Check out a little early but didnt take away from a great stay, and this check-out does seem to be getting earlier everywhere now.

We really loved this property. It had everything and the view out onto the canal was lovely. It was a nice quiet location with everything you needed nearby, great walks for the dog along the canal and the host very helpful and accommodating. Check in was easy and own parking space is also very handy. It was perfect for what we needed. Just wish we had stayed longer.

My only things were the mattress was a bit hard for me and my partner, also we felt like a lamp in the living room would have just set the mood with the log burner.

Loved that it was open plan and very spacious. The dogs found there to be plenty of space also.

    see above

er unit was a wee bit unkempt - not a major issue for us but I can see that it might impact other visitors more. The cottage has no secure garden area and we have two large dogs who are used to the back door being opened and allowing them to run free - just meant we had to get them on leads before going out - that being said, we had guessed this might be the case and were semi-prepared for it. We loved the location though (with the exception of dog poop left by some irresponsible dog walkers including a lovely present in the parking area - it’s bad enough cleaning up own dogs mess!). Sorry for the rant - the cottage itself was just right for our needs and we hope to come back.

Hot water for the bath, was a bit iffy, boiling hot 1 minute and tepid the next. Other taps were all fine with no issues, just seems to have been the bath

The location is stunning, loved what the owners have done with the property.

We had a wonderful two night stay this summer. The location and the Cottage are sublime. From there we discovered Inverness on foot with nice walks next to the Ness and the Caledonian Canal. The Cottage has all you need and more. It would be great to spend a longer holidays there, thanks to the ample space, fireplace, terrace and all needed appliances. Location is a bit outside the centre, which offers you quiet and relaxation, glorious views and marvellous sunsets. We will be back!

Beautiful little house, fabulously decorated and extremely clean., Stunning location with lovely walks just outside the back door and fantastic scenery to enjoy when having your meals. Host left us bread, croissants, milk, butter & orange juice along with all the condiments. Also had towles & toiletries. Couldn't fault anything about the place. .
