How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No windows in room which may bother some.
Room was small but does the job, we had two single beds as two mates sharing after a night out. Close to the city centre and Lime Street station. Room was clean.

The extractor fan in the bathroom is too loud and can't be turned off. You can also hear the rumble of the trains coming and going. The pillows were like paper and the staff were very abrupt.
The decor is nice and modern.

This is the second time I have been to this hotel. They advertise their hotel as having an airconditioning but they have one inside the room but it just doesn’t work.

I think the staff on reception thought they were prison wardens and were rather grumpy!
Great location, right in the city centre. Stayed in a triple room which was a good size and beds were fairly comfy.

I went for a windowless room, which seemed tired, in need of spruce up and not thoroughly cleaned. There were marks on the walls, the shower door was a bit dodgy, the bed seemed old, there was a bobble on the bedside table and dirty mugs etc. I think the window rooms may be more modern etc. Room could also do with a lamp as the lights are really bright. Was also disappointed breakfast was unavailable during my stay (tough cereal boxes etc were out). Not bad for the price but also not the best either. However, I would consider staying again.
Central location, staff were lovely and helpful. It was quiet (other than the rumbling of trains now and then) which is great. Bed was comfortable and WiFi was great.

Soundproofing maybe could be upgraded
Ideal location for last-minute booking.we booked the cheapest room available as it was not for leisure, small room ,2 singles would have been better, but that's down to me,we were offered an upgrade at extra cost with window and larger room,but declined.

I think it's a waste of resources to change my towels if I'm only staying for two nights. I would have liked the option to opt out of that. There wasn't much space in the room, but a little table and a reading lamp by the bed would make it a lot more comfortable.
Staff were excellent, super friendly with everything. There was actually 24h reception with a person to talk to in case I needed something. Storing a bag after checking out was not a problem either. Messages before arrival were also answered quickly and problems solved swiftly.

the walls are extremely thin so can hear people shagging screaming etc and also there was multiple signs saying no under 21s when their website very clearly states all guests need an adult over 18 nothing about 21. with that said there were no issues raised regarding the signs.
lovely and helpful staff let us leave bags early and check in late.

The beds were old you could feel the springs in the bed. The mattress would dip in the middle. Not the comfiest beds for the price of the room. Hotel room was reasonably clean
It was very central and fairly quiet. The staff were friendly too
